The invention discloses a calibration method of a spectroscopic seawater COD sensor and the COD sensor. The conversion relation between the absorbance and the COD value is good in repeatability, the spectroscopic seawater COD sensor calibrated by the method can be directly used, the operation time is greatly shortened, chemical reagents are saved, the problem of blank calibration materials of the spectroscopic seawater COD sensor is solved, and the method is high in accuracy and good in repeatability.
