Data transaction assembly server

A form driven operating system which permits dynamic reconfiguration of any host processor into a virtual machine which supports any of a number of operating system independent applications. A data transaction assembly server (TAS) downloads menus and forms which are unique to each application requiring data to be input for local or remote processing. The data transactions and forms are exchanged between the TAS, which functions as a form driven operating system of the host computer, and a remote processor in a real-time fashion so that virtually any operating system independent software application may be implemented in which a form driven operating system may be used to facilitate input, and in which the data input into the form may be processed locally or remotely, returned as a data stream, and displayed to the user. The TAS merely requires a flash PROM for storing the TAS control firmware, a RAM for storing the data streams making up the forms and menus, and a small RAM which operates as an input / output transaction buffer for storing the data streams of the template and the user replies to the prompts during assembly of a data transaction.

Method and apparatus for interleaved processing of direct and indirect texture coordinates in a graphics system

A graphics system including a custom graphics and audio processor produces exciting 2D and 3D graphics and surround sound. The system includes a graphics and audio processor including a 3D graphics pipeline and an audio digital signal processor. The graphics pipeline renders and prepares images for display at least in part in response to polygon vertex attribute data and texel color data stored as a texture images in an associated memory. An efficient texturing pipeline arrangement achieves a relatively low chip-footprint by utilizing a single texture coordinate / data processing unit that interleaves the processing of logical direct and indirect texture coordinate data and a texture lookup data feedback path for “recirculating” indirect texture lookup data retrieved from a single texture retrieval unit back to the texture coordinate / data processing unit. Versatile indirect texture referencing is achieved by using the same texture coordinate / data processing unit to transform the recirculated texture lookup data into offsets that may be added to the texture coordinates of a direct texture lookup. A generalized indirect texture API function is provided that supports defining at least four indirect texture referencing operations and allows for selectively associating one of at least eight different texture images with each indirect texture defined. Retrieved indirect texture lookup data is processed as multi-bit binary data triplets of three, four, five, or eight bits. The data triplets are multiplied by a 3×2 texture coordinate offset matrix before being optionally combined with regular non-indirect coordinate data or coordinate data from a previous cycle / stage of processing. Values of the offset matrix elements are variable and may be dynamically defined for each cycle / stage using selected constants. Two additional variable matrix configurations are also defined containing element values obtained from current direct texture coordinates. Circuitry for optionally biasing and scaling retrieved texture data is also provided.

System method and computer program product for remote graphics processing

A system, method, and computer program product are provided for remote rendering of computer graphics. The system includes a graphics application program resident at a remote server. The graphics application is invoked by a user or process located at a client. The invoked graphics application proceeds to issue graphics instructions. The graphics instructions are received by a remote rendering control system. Given that the client and server differ with respect to graphics context and image processing capability, the remote rendering control system modifies the graphics instructions in order to accommodate these differences. The modified graphics instructions are sent to graphics rendering resources, which produce one or more rendered images. Data representing the rendered images is written to one or more frame buffers. The remote rendering control system then reads this image data from the frame buffers. The image data is transmitted to the client for display or processing. In an embodiment of the system, the image data is compressed before being transmitted to the client. In such an embodiment, the steps of rendering, compression, and transmission can be performed asynchronously in a pipelined manner.

System and method for mining data

A system and method for extracting data, hereinafter referred to as MitoMine, that produces a strongly-typed ontology defined collection referencing (and cross referencing) all extracted records. The input to the mining process can be any data source, such as a text file delimited into a set of possibly dissimilar records. MitoMine contains parser routines and post processing functions, known as ‘munchers’. The parser routines can be accessed either via a batch mining process or as part of a running server process connected to a live source. Munchers can be registered on a per data-source basis in order to process the records produced, possibly writing them to an external database and / or a set of servers. The present invention also embeds an interpreted ontology based language within a compiler / interpreter (for the source format) such that the statements of the embedded language are executed as a result of the source compiler ‘recognizing’ a given construct within the source and extracting the corresponding source content. In this way, the execution of the statements in the embedded program will occur in a sequence that is dictated wholly by the source content. This system and method therefore make it possible to bulk extract free-form data from such sources as CD-ROMs, the web etc. and have the resultant structured data loaded into an ontology based system.

System and Method for Billing for Hosted Services

Some embodiments provide a system and method for projecting billing of a specified server configuration. In some embodiments, the projected billing is determined by identifying a set of allocated resources for the server configuration. In some embodiments, the set of resources include an amount of allocated RAM, network bandwidth, disk storage, processing power, etc. The set of resources are then projected over a billing period. Some embodiments determine a projection for the configuration as each component of the configuration is specified within a graphical user interface. Additionally, some embodiments determine a projection for the configuration after the entire configuration is specified within the graphical user interface.

Method and system for programmable pipelined graphics processing with branching instructions

A programmable, pipelined graphics processor (e.g., a vertex processor) having at least two processing pipelines, a graphics processing system including such a processor, and a pipelined graphics data processing method allowing parallel processing and also handling branching instructions and preventing conflicts among pipelines. Preferably, each pipeline processes data in accordance with a program including by executing branch instructions, and the processor is operable in any one of a parallel processing mode in which at least two data values to be processed in parallel in accordance with the same program are launched simultaneously into multiple pipelines, and a serialized mode in which only one pipeline at a time receives input data values to be processed in accordance with the program (and operation of each other pipeline is frozen). During parallel processing mode operation, mode control circuitry recognizes and resolves branch instructions to be executed (before processing of data in accordance with each branch instruction starts) and causes the processor to operate in the serialized mode when (and preferably only for as long as) necessary to prevent any conflict between the pipelines due to branching. In other embodiments, the processor is operable in any one of a parallel processing mode and a limited serialized mode in which operation of each of a sequence of pipelines (or pipeline sets) pauses for a limited number of clock cycles. The processor enters the limited serialized mode in response to detecting a conflict-causing instruction that could cause a conflict between resources shared by the pipelines during parallel processing mode operation.

An electronic image visualization system, such as a music stand system and display, management and communications methodologies relating thereto are presented. The electronic music stand system is comprised of a performer subsystem comprising a processing subsystem, librarian logic, performance logic, and communications management logic. The communications management logic provides management of communication via the communications interface with external apparatus responsive to the performance logic and the librarian logic. The user input apparatus and the display apparatus can be integrated into a touch-screen input display. The user input apparatus can alternatively be at least one of a touch-tablet, a stylus-based writing tablet, a mouse, a keyboard, a joystick, a game controller, and a switch. In a preferred embodiment, the librarian logic, the performance logic and the communications management logic are defined by program data stored in the data storage apparatus, and the processor is responsive to the program data for managing data formatting, displaying music, and management of communications of data with the external apparatus.
