Method and system for synchronizing multiple user revisions to a shared object

Many different users may access, revise and update the same shared object simultaneously through several different transports. Revisions to the shared object are automatically synchronized such that all users can view the revisions to the shared object. Conflicting revisions are reconciled and merged into a current version of the shared object. A client may request the current version of the shared object from a store when the current version of the shared object is not available from the store. The current version of the shared object is synchronized with the client when the store receives the current version of the share object.

Method and system for converting a single-threaded software program into an application-specific supercomputer

The invention comprises (i) a compilation method for automatically converting a single-threaded software program into an application-specific supercomputer, and (ii) the supercomputer system structure generated as a result of applying this method. The compilation method comprises: (a) Converting an arbitrary code fragment from the application into customized hardware whose execution is functionally equivalent to the software execution of the code fragment; and (b) Generating interfaces on the hardware and software parts of the application, which (i) Perform a software-to-hardware program state transfer at the entries of the code fragment; (ii) Perform a hardware-to-software program state transfer at the exits of the code fragment; and (iii) Maintain memory coherence between the software and hardware memories. If the resulting hardware design is large, it is divided into partitions such that each partition can fit into a single chip. Then, a single union chip is created which can realize any of the partitions.

Workflow code generator

A workflow code generator for generating executable code for multi-channel and / or multi-modal applications. The code generator may include a parser for reading application input files and creating internal representations of declarative statements within the input files. The code generator may further include a model analyzer, which processes the internal model to detect errors, perform optimization, and prepare for outputting the result. The code generator uses a symbol or mapping table for storing references to resources that have been used by the input application. The code generator assigns code fragments to object patterns, resolves data object references by referring to mapping table, and traverses the objects and emits code assigned to the objects.

Optimized chaining of vertex and fragment programs

A system optimizes two or more stream processing programs based upon the data exchanged between the stream processing programs. The system alternately processes each stream processing program to identify and remove dead program code, thereby improving execution performance. Dead program code is identified by propagating constants received as inputs from other stream processing programs and by analyzing a first stream processing program and determining the outputs of a second stream processing program that are unused by the first stream processing program. The system may perform multiple iterations of this optimization is previous iterations introduce additional constants used as inputs to a stream processing program. Following optimization of the stream processing programs, the optimized stream processing programs are compiled to a format adapted to be executed by a stream processing system.

Hosted application as a designer in an integrated development environment

Architecture that integrates an unmanaged application as a hosted application into a design environment in a coherent yet usable manner such that the developer can use the hosted application's native functionality yet leverage rich productivity features provided by the IDE. The IDE includes a hosting component that comprises an application adaptor for providing an interface from the unmanaged application to the IDE. The IDE further includes a designer framework that provides user access to designer capabilities of the IDE. The host adaptor interfaces to the designer framework either directly and / or through an integration interface. Thus, the developer / user can then access the native functionality of the unmanaged application as well as the IDE functionality. This provides rich integration between the development environment and the hosted application, the end result of which is the designer interacting with the IDE.

Method and system for automatically determining differences in a user interface throughout a development cycle

A method and system for automatically determining the differences in a mobile device user interface throughout a development cycle. A test automation is run to exercise a target device's user interface. While the user interface is exercised, an extension is activated that takes snapshots of the user interface output at selected intervals of an automation execution. The snapshots are stored and uploaded to a server where snapshots of different automation executions are then compared on a pixel-by-pixel basis. The differences between snapshots are output in a visual format where the pixels that are different between snapshots are highlighted. The visual format of the differences between snapshots provides the user with a method to readily determine if errors exist in the user interface of the target device.

Instrumenting An Application With Flexible Tracers To Provide Correlation Data And Metrics

A technique for flexibly adding instrumentation to an application. A file is created which includes a dynamic parameter syntax. The file identifies a trace point in the application, such as a method, and the syntax includes one or more parameters which are evaluated when the method is invoked. The parameters can be used to provide cross-process correlation and / or performance metrics. A client process which calls a server process can include the parameter in a message header according to any desired transport protocol, such as HTTP or JMS. Different application protocols and implementation can be accommodated to track a transaction which executes on different platforms. The dynamic parameter syntax is interpreted as uncompiled code and is designed to be added by the user in the field to augment a package of pre-built instrumentation software after the package has been deployed.

Visualizing Relationships Between A Transaction Trace Graph And A Map Of Logical Subsystems

A method for diagnosing problems in a computer system by providing a user interface for visualizing flows through subsystems of the computer system, and allowing a user to explore relationships between a triage map which graphically depicts subsystems, and a transaction trace graph, which depicts a time sequence of invoked components of the subsystems. In one aspect, in response to a user selecting a portion of the transaction trace graph which depicts an invoked component, the user interface visually distinguishes one of the subsystems which invokes the invoked component. In another aspect, the transaction trace can be played back so that subsystems in the triage map are highlighted in turn, in a time sequence, as components of different subsystems are invoked. A time marker can skip to selected time points which result in updating of the triage map.

Distributing workloads in a computing platform

Techniques are disclosed relating to distributing workloads between processors. In one embodiment, a computer system includes a first processor and a second processor. The first processor executes program instructions to receive a first set of bytecode specifying a first set of tasks and to determine whether to offload the first set of tasks to the second processor. In response to determining to offload the first set of tasks to the second processor, the program instructions are further executable to cause generation of a set of instructions to perform the first set of tasks, where the set of instructions are in a format different from that of the first set of bytecode, and where the format is supported by the second processor. The program instructions are further executable to cause the second processor to execute the set of instructions by causing the set of instructions to be provided to the second processor.

Method and apparatus for a hierarchical object model-based constrained language interpreter-parser

A natural language parser creates parsed commands or output for an external system from user commands entered on a user interface. The parser utilizes symbols arranged in an object-oriented hierarchical manner, and a grammar information and state table to constrain language inputs so that they conform to requirements of the external system. The parser provides feedback to the user via the user interface to assist in the formation of valid output to the external system and reduce the complexity for the user. The parser may be applied to the field of control systems in general, as well as a flight control system for an aircraft.
