The invention discloses a method for converting
coal seam gas by adopting a novel catalyst, and belongs to the field of
coal seam gas extraction. The method comprises the following specific steps that(1), a series of
drill sites are arranged in a to-be-mined
coal seam, and the
drill holes are arranged in the coal seam through the
drill sites; (2) the solution containing the catalyst is injected into the to-be-mined coal seam along the drill holes, gas in the coal seam is directly oxidized into
methanol under the catalytic action, and the
methanol is dissolved into the solution containing thecatalyst; and (3) the
methanol solution containing the catalyst is extracted from the coal seam, the catalyst is separated from the methanol solution through an underground
separation system, the separated catalyst is injected into the coal body again to realize cyclic utilization of the catalyst solution, and the methanol solution is stored into a methanol
storage tank after purifying. Accordingto the method, gas in a
free state can be extracted, and gas attached to the coal body can also be extracted, the gas extraction efficiency is greatly improved, and meanwhile the gas is converted anddissolved, so that the gas extraction safety is greatly improved.
