Method for catalytically synthesizing adamantane

The invention discloses a method for catalyzing and synthesizing adamantane which is generated by bridge tetrahydro Dicyclopentadiene in two steps of catalytic isomerization; adamantane is generated by bridge tetrahydro Dicyclopentadiene as raw material and any of aluminium choride, aluminium tribromide, or ferric trichloride as a catalyst under a normal pressure, a certain temperature, and a certain reaction time. The method is characterized in that the reaction is accomplished in two steps; in the first step, any of methanol, ethanol, normal propyl alcohol, isopropanol, methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, acetic acid, halogenated hydrocarbon, and tetrahydrofuran is used as solvent; in the second step, a certain amount of main catalyst is added, and any of sodium carbonate, sodium chloride or sodium bicarbonate is added as a cocatalyst, thus generating the adamantane under a certain reaction temperature. The method is simple and convenient; the operation is convenient; the yield coefficient is high; and the cost is low. Through a suitably chosen catalyst system, the purity of the adamantane obtained with the method is higher than 99 percent; and the yield coefficient is higher than 60 percent.

The method provided by the invention adopts the cheap salicylic acid which is wide in source as the starting material and prepares the 5-bromo-2-chlorobenzoic acid through two-step reaction of bromination and chlorination, is novel in synthetic route, relatively low in production cost, relatively small in environmental pollution and very suitable for industrial mass production. According to the method, through the bromination reaction and the chlorination reaction, by selecting proper reagents, relatively high reaction yield and product purity can be obtained.

Reaction of chlorogallium phthalocyanine or hydroxygallium phthalocyanine with hydroiodic (or hydrobromic) acid is also effective for providing a novel crystal form of iodo-(or bromo-)gallium phthalocyanine. Zirconium phthalocyanine exhibiting good electrophotographic performances can be obtained through a similar process.

Process for brominating butadiene polymers

Butadiene polymers are brominated using tetraethylammonium tribromide as the brominating agent. The bromination is performed in a solvent for the starting polymer and for the tetraethylammonium bromide that is formed as a reaction byproduct. The process proceeds easily under mild conditions. In some cases, a solution of the brominated polymer and the tetraethylammonium monobromide is produced; this solution separates into a layer that contains the brominated polymer and another layer that contains most or all of the tetraethylammonium monobromide salt. In other cases, the brominated polymer precipitates from the reaction mixture and is separated from the tetraethylammonium monobromide salt in that manner. This process therefore permits the tetraethylammonium monobromide reaction by-product to be separated easily from the brominated product, and allows aqueous washing steps to be reduced or eliminated.
