The invention provides a low-cost light mullite-based heat preservation material and a preparation method thereof. The method comprises the following steps: (1) adding pulverized fuel ash, bauxite, glass powder, a dispersing agent and a foam stabilizer into water for mixing, performing ball milling, thereby obtaining primary slurry; (2) adding an aqueous solution of gelatin, and stirring, thereby obtaining ceramic slurry; (3) adding a foaming agent, and stirring, thereby obtaining foam slurry; (4) pouring the foam slurry into a mold, and performing gel solidification at room temperature, thereby obtaining a wet green body; (5) demolding after moisture on the surface of the wet green body evaporates, and performing air drying, thereby obtaining a green body; and (6) sintering the green body in a high-temperature sintering furnace, thereby obtaining the mullite-based thermal insulation material. The industrial waste powder pulverized fuel ash and mineral bauxite are taken as main raw materials, a method for combining mechanical foaming and gelatin gel solidification molding is utilized, the cost is saved, and the environment is protected; and moreover, the prepared material has the advantages of low thermal conductivity, low specific gravity and high thermal stability and has the unique advantages of good creep resistance, erosion resistance and the like.

Three-dimensional transglutaminase-crosslinked hydrogel for tumor engineering

Development of a physiologically relevant 3D model system for cancer research and drug development represents quite a challenge. We have adopted a 3D culture system based on a transglutaminase-crosslinked gelatin gel (Col-Tgel) to mimic tumor 3D microenvironment. The system has several unique advantages over other alternatives which include cell-matrix interaction sites provided by collagen derived peptides, a 3D construct suitable for reproducing the solid tumor microenvironment including multicellular tumor spheroids and metabolic gradients. In addition the controllable gel stiffness provides a wide range of mechanical restrictions; and compatibility with imaging based screening due to its transparent properties. In addition the Col-Tgel provides a cure-in-situ delivery vehicle for tumor xenograft formation in animals with a high take rate. Overall, this unique 3D system could provide a platform to accurately mimic in vivo situations to study tumor formation and progression both in vitro and in vivo, as well as for screening antineoplastic drugs and assessing the occurrence of drug resistance related to cancer cell stress.

The present invention provides modified fish gelatin based on low-ester pectin and calcium and a preparation method of the modified fish gelatin. The modified fish gelatin comprises the following components: 6.67% w / w of fish gelatin, 0.8% w / w of low-ester pectin, 2 mM of calcium chloride and the balance deionized water. The low-ester pectin and calcium ions are used to improve gelling propertiesof the fish gelatin. The low-ester pectin, as a plant cell wall polysaccharide, is not absorbed by human body and can reach the intestine to promote reproduction of probiotics in the intestine. Addition of the calcium can also achieve a purpose of calcium supplementation and enriches nutrients of the fish gelatin. The low-ester pectin and calcium are used to improve thermal stability of the fish gelatin. An effect of different concentrations of the calcium chloride on the system is tested. A gelatin-melting temperature increases from 26 DEG C of an initial pure fish gelatin to 43 DEG C of themodified fish gelatin (calcium chloride 3 mM), hardness of the fish gelatin is increased (+32% and calcium chloride 2 mM) and defects of the fish gelatin relative to mammalian gelatin are compensated.
