The strain for degrading ethanethiol is an aerobiotic Gram-negative bacterium, which can be grown by taking ethanethiol as a sole carbon source and energy, and can be thoroughly mineralized into CO2 and H2O. Under a pure culture condition, the strain is capable of degrading ethanethiol under the conditions that the temperature is 25-30 DEG C and the pH is 6-8. The strain has good substrate adaptive capacity and substrate extensiveness, and is capable of degrading propanethiol and methanol. The strain establishes the basis for industrial application in treating sulfur-containing stink organic waste gases by using a biologic method.
