Dual-emission composite silicon dioxide nanoparticles are composite silicon dioxide nanoparticles formed by utilizing carbon dot covered silicon dioxide particles as cores and covalently coupling the surfaces of the carbon dot covered silicon dioxide particles with the Au nanoclusters after surface amination. The carbon dots located in the silicon dioxide nanoparticle cores are taken as reference fluorescence signals, the Au nanoclusters on the outer layers are taken as response fluorescence signals, and the signals are used for Hg<2+> selective recognition. The Au nanoclusters as the response fluorescence signals are connected to the surface of a silicon layer through covalent bond connection, and one stable nano-fluorescent probe is formed. When the dual-fluorescence composite nanoparticles are taken as the rate type fluorescent probes, the intensity of the carbon dot fluorescence signals in the cores basically keep unchanged, and the Au nanoclusters on the outer layers can be bonded with Hg<2+> selectively so as to result in fluorescence quenching of the Au nanoclusters on the outer layers.

Lignin-based dithiocarbamate heavy metal ion capture agent and preparation method

The invention discloses a preparation method of a lignin-based dithiocarbamate heavy metal ion capture agent. The method comprises the steps of: (1) adding water into lignin and stirring them, adding an alkaline conditioning agent to adjust the pH to 9-11, then adding an oxidizing agent, conducting heating to raise the temperature to 80-90DEG C for reacting for 1-2 hours; (2) adding an amination reagent, maintaining the reaction temperature at 80-90DEG C, then adding formaldehyde to react for 5-6 hours; (3) cooling the solution to room temperature, adjusting the pH value to 10-11, then adding carbon disulfide to perform an esterification reaction for 4-5 hours at 40-45DEG C; and (4) adding a modifier for reacting for 1-2 hours, then carrying out pumping filtration, and then conducting washing 2-3 times with water and absolute ethyl alcohol, thus obtaining a solid product, i.e. the lignin-based dithiocarbamate. The lignin-based dithiocarbamate heavy metal ion capture agent provided in the invention has the advantages of simple preparation process, low production cost, excellent performance, adaptability to treatment of various heavy metal ion polluted wastewater, good stability, and wide applicable range.

Synthesis of a chemical compound having the formula A-B-C that may serve for applications such as drug delivery where A is a chemiluminescent, moiety, B is a photochromic moiety, and C is a biologically active moiety where A-B-C may serve as a prodrug. Novel synthetic methods of the present invention to form the prodrug comprised the steps of (1) forming a benzophenone, (2) forming a diaryl ethylene, (3) attaching a phthalimide moiety to at least one of the aryl groups of the ethylene to form a phthalimide-ethylene conjugate, (4) condensing two ethylene-phthalimide conjugates to form a phthalimide-pentadiene conjugate, (5) converting the phthalimide to the phthalhydrazide by reaction with hydrazine to form a carrier compound according to the present invention, and (6) reacting the carrier compound with an nucleophilic moiety of the drug to form the corresponding prodrug. Alternatively the carrier can be prepared by using the halo-substituted diaryl ethylene to make the corresponding cationic leuco dye-like compound with known methods. The cationic compound then is protected by reacting with a nucleophile and coupled with the aminophathalimide by palladium-catalyzed amination to form the protected phthalimide-pentadiene conjugate. The latter is refluxed with hydrazine to convert its phthalimide to the phthalhydrazide and acidified to give the carrier. An additional aspect of the present invention relates to the use of these compounds as antiviral agents for the treatment of viral infections such as HIV and as anticancer agents for the treatment of cancers such as bowel, lung, and breast cancer.

Method of chemically-grafting graphene oxide onto surface of carbon fiber

A method of chemically-grafting graphene oxide onto surface of carbon fibers. The invention relates to a surface modification method of the carbon fibers and aims to solve the problems of high surface inertia, low surface energy and poor mechanical and thermal performances of the carbon fibers in the prior art. The method includes following steps: (1) preparing graphene oxide through improved Hummer's method; (2) oxidizing the carbon fibers; (3) performing surface modification amination treatment to the carbon fibers; and (4) chemically-grafting the graphene oxide onto the surface of the carbon fibers. The surface of the carbon fibers is improved significantly in wettability and adhesivity and is significantly improved in roughness after grafting, so that the strength and toughness of the carbon fiber are significantly improved, wherein the strength is increased by 20-25% than carbon fiber raw filament and the toughness is increased by 35-40% that the carbon fiber raw filament. The method is used for surface modification of the carbon fibers.
