The invention relates to a fertilizer with high contents of phosphorus and potassium. The fertilizer is prepared from a phosphorus-containing compound and a potassium-containing compound, wherein the content of phosphorus in the fertilizer is 40 to 60% in terms of phosphorus pentoxide, and the content of potassium in the fertilizer is 40 to 60% in terms of an oxidizing agent. According to the invention, a non-conventional formula is employed to prepare the nitrogen-free fertilizer with excellent effect and high contents of phosphorus and potassium; the fertilizer can effectively control the growth of crops in an early stage and promote seedling hardening, rooting and blossom of the crops; in the later stage of the growth of the crops, the fertilizer can better promote expanding and coloring of fruit and accumulation of mesome substances in fruit and promote generation of growth activity substances, so the utilization rates of macroelement, medium elements and trace elements in crops can be substantially increased, and yield increase of the crops is realized; and the fertilizer is especially applicable to plants which do not need nitrogen in the whole growing period but have higher demands for phosphorus and potassium.
