Machine direction oriented polymeric films and methods of making the same

This invention relates to a film comprising a machine direction oriented polymeric film prepared from (A) at least one propylene homopolymer or copolymer or lend of two or more thereof, wherein (A) has a melt flow rate from about 6 to about 30 and (B) an olefin elastomer having a melt flow rate of 0.5 to 10. In one embodiment, the film also contains a nucleating agent. In one embodiment, these films are clear. The films have good stiffness and clarity with low haze. These films are useful in preparing labels and may be used as a monolayer film or in a multilayer film. In one embodiment, the films are printable. Die-cut labels are also described which comprise a composite comprising the extruded, machine-direction oriented polypropylene copolymer films of the present invention in combination with an adhesive associated with said copolymer films for adhering said label to a substrate. Multilayer composites also are described which comprise a label facestock material comprising an extruded oriented multilayer film of the present invention, an adhesive layer associated with said facestock material, and a release-coated liner or carrier. Combinations of the labels of the present invention joined with layer of adhesive to a substrate such as glass bottles also are described.

Method and arrangement for the secure display of information

A method to operate a display screen D in at least two operating modes, B1 for a free viewing mode and B2 for a restricted viewing mode, comprising the following steps: arrangement of a switchable optical element immediately in front of a display screen as seen in a viewer's viewing direction, the said optical element ensuring switching between the at least two operating modes B1 and B2, presentation of an image content on the display screen, wherein the optical element contains a multitude of louvers, and wherein the optical effect of the louvers can be changed between transparent (B1) and luminous (B2) due to the fact that at least every twentieth louver contains triggerable layers that can be switched to be either transparent or brightly self-luminous.

Low-haze transparent conductive film and preparation method thereof

The invention provides a low-haze transparent conductive film and a preparation method thereof. The low-haze transparent conductive film comprises a transparent substrate layer, wherein the transparent substrate layer is coated with a super hydrophilic coating formed by a super hydrophilic coating material, the super hydrophilic layer is coated with a transparent conductive layer formed by a conductive ink composition, and the wetting angle of water at the surface of the super hydrophilic coating is less than or equal to 5 degrees. After the super hydrophilic coating is coated, the light transmittance of the substrate is improved, the haze is reduced, an adhesive force between the transparent conductive layer and the substrate is enhanced, and the oxygen permeability of the transparent substrate is also reduced at the same time. By adopting the technical scheme provided by the invention, the total haze of the ultimately acquired transparent conductive film is reduced by 40% compared with that before super hydrophilic processing under the condition of keeping the conductivity to be unchanged, the light transmittance is improved by 2-5%, the adhesive force is also obviously improved, and the appearance is more transparent.
