The invention relates to a sol-gel preparation method for a silver rare earth oxide contact material for a low-voltage switching device. The material chemically comprises a rare earth oxide, an oxide of Me, SnO2 and metallic silver. Mass percentage of each oxide accounting for total mass of the oxide is 1-5% of rare earth oxide, 1-5% of oxide of Me, and the balance SnO2. The mass percentage of a sum of mass of the three kinds of oxide to the mass of metallic silver is oxide: silver=85-95:15-5. The silver rare earth oxide contact material for the low-voltage switching device does not contain Cd, is not toxic and environment-friendly, prolongs service life of a contact, and has high hardness, density and conductivity, and therefore contact performance and reliability of electrical devices are improved.

The invention discloses a novel insulating material for cables. The material comprises an insulating layer, a shielding layer and a metal conductor; and the insulating layer is formed by fusing of a polypropylene polymer material and a polyethylene polymer material, and the insulation layer comprises 88 parts by weight of the polypropylene polymer material and 32 parts by weight of the polyethylene polymer material, wherein and the polypropylene polymer material includes the following components in parts by weight: 40 parts of polypropylene, 20 parts of rubber, 10 parts of polyvinyl chloride,5 parts of synthetic fibers and 7 parts of an adhesive; and the polyvinyl polymer material comprises the following components in parts by weight: 55 parts of polyethylene, 20 parts of calcium carbonate, 15 parts of polysulfone resin, and 3 parts of a binder. The insulating material for the cables contains the polyethylene, the polyethylene is odorless and non-toxic, has a hand feeling like wax, excellent low-temperature resistance, wherein the minimum usage temperature can reach -100 DEC C to 70 DEG C, good chemical stability, resistance to erosion of a plurality of acids and alkalis, insolubility in a common solvent under a normal temperature, and low water absorbing performance, thereby having excellent electrical insulating properties.
