3342 results about "Bathtub" patented technology

A bathtub, bath, or tub (informal) is a large or small container for holding water in which a person or animal may bathe. Most modern bathtubs are made of thermoformed acrylic, porcelain enameled steel, fiberglass-reinforced polyester, or porcelain enameled cast iron. A bathtub is usually placed in a bathroom either as a stand-alone fixture or in conjunction with a shower.

Tub for humidifier

A humidifier includes a tub. The tub includes a base plate; a tub base; a seal between the base plate and the tub base; and a latch mechanism that connects the base plate to the tub base so that the base plate is engaged with the seal. The latch mechanism may include an overcenter latch pivotably attached to the tub base and latch tabs formed on the base plate, the overcenter latch engaging the latch tabs in the connected position to connect the base plate to the tub base. The latch mechanism may alternatively include resilient tabs on the tub base, the resilient tabs elastically biasing the base plate toward the tub base upon connection of the base plate to the tub base. The resilient tabs may include tamper evident projections that indicate that the base plate has been disconnected from the tub base. The base plate may be stainless steel and be formed by stamping. The base plate may include a stamped ring. The humidifier further includes a tub lid configured to cover the tub to form a water container. A cradle receives the water container. A hinged lid on the cradle is pivotable between an open position permitting insertion of the water container into the cradle and a closed position covering the inserted water container. A heating element contacts the base plate when the water container is inserted into the cradle. The humidifier is connectable to a flow generator of a CPAP device.

Water heater

An improved water heater for use in spas, hot tubs, pools, hydrotherapy pools, bath tubs, and similar bodies of water used indoors, outdoors, or both indoors and outdoors are used for both therapeutic and recreational purposes. The water heater uses heating element technology know as thick film on substrate comprising resistive elements bonded to the outer dry surface of a pipe to heat the pipe which in turn heats the water flowing therethrough. The heater is highly efficient due to the direct contact of the wet heating surface with the water and provides a smooth seamless inner heating surface by eliminating the need to pass electrical leads into the wet region of the heater. This virtually eliminates the risk of leaks in the water heater due to bulkhead fittings. The invention further eliminates the need for a heating element to be contained in the inner wet region of a spa heater, thereby reducing the risk of corrosion. The water heater is used in combination with an electronic controller having a microprocessor to control and regulate the operation of the water heater. The water heater can be used with electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical control systems for spas and can be retrofitted into existing spa applications.

Overflow assembly for bathtubs and the like

An overflow system in the bathtub has an overflow port and has a drain pipe in connection with the overflow port. A threaded flange has a stub shoulder on one end which is fitted into a circular sleeve on the overflow port. The threaded flange has exterior threads on its outer surface and a thin diaphragm secured to the end thereof opposite to the stub shoulder. A large sealing washer embraces the outside of the circular flange on the overflow port and extends partially over the threads of the threaded flange. A large internally threaded nut is threadably mounted on the outer end of the threaded flange and compresses the sealing washer against a vertical flange on the port to seal the connection between the threaded flange and the port. A decorative cap is frictionally snapped into engagement with protrusions on the outer surface of the nut. The cap can be removed when needed to permit the plumber to gain access to the diaphragm to cut it open for fluid flow after the system has been tested for leaks, or put in place after the cut takes place.

Flow-through bathtub

InactiveUS20050246830A1BathsDouchesSiphonMassage
A continuous flow bathtub having at least two inlets on the head end of the tub, such that water enters the bathtub above a user's shoulders, flowing down over the bather's body and down to the water level in the bathtub, flowing out through an overflow trough at the foot end. This provides a luxurious experience of massage by clean, unused flowing water, without the need for expensive, complicated anti-siphon devices.

CCD camera element used as actuation detector for electric plumbing products

InactiveUS20060231782A1Sensitive and accurate controlOperating means/releasing devices for valvesDomestic plumbingCcd cameraToilet
An improved method and control for identifying the presence of a user in the vicinity of a plumbing product utilizes a CCD camera to capture images. The captured images are analyzed to determine whether there is an actual user in a field of vision. If an actual user is determined to be in the image, then flow of water such as directing water outwardly of a faucet, or flushing of a toilet, is actuated. Further, the invention can be utilized in a tub and / or shower, and certain safety features can be provided by the control.

Hard surface cleaning compositions, premoistened wipes, methods of use, and articles comprising said compositions or wipes and instructions for use resulting in easier cleaning and maintenance, improved surface appearance and/or hygiene under stress conditions such as no-rinse

The present invention provides preferred, preferably liquid, hard surface cleaning compositions, compositions with cleaning liquid composition on a substrate, compositions used with absorbent pads and implements and devices for making the process of cleaning hard surfaces and / or maintaining their appearance and hygiene easier and more effective. These compositions, along with specific instructions for use are advantageous for removal of and / or prevention of buildup of soils commonly encountered on floors, glass surfaces, counters, walls, showers and / or tubs, said compositions comprising hydrophilic polymers to render the cleaned surface hydrophilic and to improve the appearance when the surface is either not rinsed, or when the composition is incompletely removed, specific surfactant, preferably surfactant selected to minimize spotting / filming, optionally specific organic cleaning solvents to provide cleaning and wetting particularly in applications where levels of non-volatiles need to be minimized, and, optionally, anti-bacterial agents for preserving or surface activity and optionally perfumes for aesthetics.
