1567 results about "Grommet" patented technology

A grommet is a ring or edge strip inserted into a hole through thin material, typically a sheet of textile fabric, sheet metal or composite of carbon fiber, wood or honeycomb. Grommets are generally flared or collared on each side to keep them in place, and are often made of metal, plastic, or rubber. They may be used to prevent tearing or abrasion of the pierced material or protection from abrasion of the insulation on the wire, cable, line being routed through the penetration, and to cover sharp edges of the piercing, or all of the above.

Portable solar panel with attachment points

The present invention discloses a portable solar tarp or a field portable battery charger employing a solar tarp, utilizing flexible solar panels, solar fabric, or solar film. Around the perimeter of the solar tarp is a series of attachment points for straps. The attachment points can be grommets, loops, buckles, hooks, buttons, or grab loops and lines, and to which connected various straps (webbing, line, cord, or cable). The present invention further discloses a versatile, adjustable strapping system utilizing straps, buckles, and hooks. The present invention strapping system can attach almost any object to nearly any other object, such as back packs, luggage, vehicles, boats, permanent and portable shelters and buildings, mechanical equipment, and natural objects such as trees, rocks. The solar panel according to the present invention can have the photovoltaic cells wired individually, or in a single line, because when parts of the photovoltaic system is subjected to shade, or if due to space constraint, parts of the photovoltaic system is covered or folded away, the remaining photovoltaic cells with useable energy are still able to function at peak capacity, since the covered cells will not become an energy drain upon the remaining cells. Further, the photovoltaic system is able to harness all available energy, regardless of the required or desired voltage and/or amperage for the system, thus converting any and all available energy into a useable current to either recharge batteries, or power a load.

Insulated bag

Insulated bags having at least three unitary layers of durable material are provided. In one embodiment, a first set of unitary layers of durable material forms a front wall, a bottom wall, and a rear wall. Two additional sets of unitary layers of durable material form side-walls. Edges of the two additional sets are joined to side and bottom edges of the first set by adding webbing and stitching together the joined edges and webbing. Disposed within the two inner most layers of the first set and the two additional sets is at least one layer of insulation. The first set and the second set are sealed at their top edge to secure the insulation. Horizontal webbing is attached to the bag via stitching through the horizontal webbing, each of the layers of the first set and the second set, and the at least one layer of insulation. Vertical straps are integrated into the bag between the horizontal webbing and the outer most layer of durable material of the first set. On the top of the bag is a mini-flap. Hook/loop fasteners are strategically positioned on the bag to secure access points on the bag. Optional features can be incorporated into the bag (e.g., side handles, a top handle, a durable bottom, a grommet, and a liner). Other embodiments of insulated bags are described herein (e.g., a bag that has the outer layer of the first set and the second set sandwiched between two layers of horizontal webbing).

Conduit connector assembly

A conduit connector assembly which receives an end of a conduit carrying electrical wires includes a body, a grommet and a spring clip. The grommet and the spring clip are each mounted to the body. The spring clip is disposed within an interior bore of the fitting body and has a resiliently flexible body and a leg having a gripping end portion. The grip end has a substantially scalloped configuration for gripping and fitting partially about the conduit so as to center the grip end of the spring clip body on the conduit. The spring clip also includes a latching member to couple with the body to hold the spring clip in position and apply a biasing tension of the gripping end of the leg against the conduit. The grip end having the scalloped configuration is in the form of an arcuate concave-shaped edge surface on the gripping end portion of the body. The grip end of the spring clip body makes line contact with an inner convolution on an exterior of the conduit and makes at least a single point contact with an outer convolution on the exterior of the conduit. The grip end may be disposed at a predetermined angle for matching a predetermined pitch angle of the convolutions on the exterior of the conduit and thereby make line contact with the inner convolution on the exterior of the conduit and make a pair of point contacts with the outer convolution on the exterior of the conduit.

Ultrasonically welded, staked or swaged components in an implantable medical device

The present invention generally relates to an improved implantable medical device (IMD) and more particularly to an ultrasonically weld perforated lid for an IMD to form a hermetic seal between the IMD and the perforated lid. Appropriately configured perforated lids retain one or more components within a cavity or port formed in a part of an IMD. Such lids preferably secure a pierceable resilient grommet, septum or other resilient member in a cavity or port. When an adjustment instrument, a pull tool or a syringe is temporarily inserted therethrough and later extracted, the resilient member heals (i.e., seals and / or reseals). Preferably, the resilient member abuts a mechanical stop and is compressed slightly during assembly and ultrasonic welding of the lid. The resilient member preferably has a lateral dimension like the cavity or port so that when the lid compresses the resilient member it expands slightly and contacts the interior cavity surfaces thus improving the seal.

Utility Jacket for Dog Walking

A jacket that is worn by a person walking a dog includes a main torso covering portion which can be closed to protect and provide warmth to the wearer's torso. A leash that can be utilized as a belt can be used to snuggly fit the jacket around the user's waist. The jacket also includes an exterior pocket that includes a roll of waste bags, typically in a roll. The exterior pocket includes an opening on the front surface of the pocket where a grommet is typically attached around the perimeter of the opening. The bag is pulled through the opening in the grommet to gain access to the bag. The lead bag is removed from the roll along the perforation separating the bags such that the walker can manually remove a bag from the pocket and tear the first bag away from the following bag while leaving the following bag in a position that is easily gripped for the next required cleaning.
