Digital security multimedia sensor

A fully digital camera system provides high-resolution still image and streaming video signals via a network to a centralized, server supported security and surveillance system. The digital camera for collects an image from one or more image transducers, compressing the image and sending the compressed digital image signal to a receiving station over a digital network. A plurality of image transducers or sensors may be included in a single camera unit, providing array imaging such as full 360 degree panoramic imaging, universal or spherical imaging and field imaging by stacking or arranging the sensors in an array. The multiple images are then compressed and merged at the camera in the desired format to permit transmission of the least amount of data to accomplish the desired image transmission. The camera also employs, or connects to, a variety of sensors other than the traditional image sensor. Sensors for fire, smoke, sound, glass breakage, motion, panic buttons, and the like, may be embedded in or connected to the camera. Data captured by these sensors may be digitized, compressed, and networked to detect notable conditions. An internal microphone and associated signal processing system may be equipped with suitable signal processing algorithms for the purpose of detecting suitable acoustic events and their location. In addition, the camera is equipped with a pair of externally accessible terminals where an external sensor may be connected. In addition, the camera may be equipped with a short-range receiver that may detect the activation of a wireless ‘panic button’ carried by facility personnel. This ‘panic button’ may employ infrared, radio frequency (RF), ultrasonic, or other suitable methods to activate the camera's receiver.

Method for providing scalable multicast service in a virtual private LAN service

Multicast capability in a virtual private LAN service (VPLS) is provided in a provider IP / MPLS infrastructure without headend replications by encapsulating a customer data packet to use an established multicast protocol, such as IP multicast. In one example, the customer data packet is encapsulated by an IP header having an IP multicast group address and an Ethernet header. In one implementation, a DNS type mechanism is provided to distribute the IP multicast addresses for VPLS use. Such IP multicast group address can be set aside from an administratively scoped address range. An efficient IP routing algorithm running on the provider's network provides an efficient distribution tree for routing IP-encapsulated customer packet for the VPLS.

Data-object-related-request routing in a dynamic, distributed data-storage system

One embodiment of the present invention provides an efficient data-object-related-request-routing method and component used within a dynamic, distributed data-storage system for efficiently routing data objects to component data-storage systems when component data-storage systems frequently become unavailable and new component data-storage systems are frequently added to the dynamic, distributed data-storage system. The data-object-related-request-routing method is employed in data-object store operations and data-object retrieval operations. The data-object store and retrieval operations, in turn, are based on identifying certain preferred component data-storage systems within the distributed data-storage system by a component-data-storage-system-ranking method.

Gatekeeper supporting handoff and handoff method in IP telephony system

A gatekeeper supporting a handoff and handoff method in an IP telephony system is disclosed. The gatekeeper is configured to perform third-party pause and rerouting (3PPR) signaling and to support the handoff using 3PPR signaling, so that a mobile terminal does not need to have a H.450.2 stack function. In addition, for a fast connect call, the H.245 control channel is induced and the 3PPR signaling, which is made through the H.245 control channel, is performed for every call including the fast connect call. Thus the handoff using the 3PPR signaling can be provided to every call. Moreover, the H.245 control channel for the fast connect call is set on the basis of the tunneling during a telephony, so that the fast connection can be maintained as it is and, thus, the fast handoff signaling can be provided.

Method and system for unifying message space on large scale in real time

The invention discloses a method and system for unifying a message space on large scale in real time. The system is developed based on a cluster technology, has a self-configuration capacity and a load-balanced release / subscription function, and is established on system architecture in which a cluster is taken as a unit; in the system architecture, proxy host computers participating in release / subscription are divided into various clusters; and the clusters are organized into a tree form for management and interact through cluster representatives. The system comprises a client side, a routing module, a data module and a manager module, wherein the routing module is responsible for managing routing information and maintaining a subscription table; the data module is responsible for receiving subscriptions and notes from the client side and sending and receiving information; and the manager module is responsible for maintaining a tree topology formed by the clusters. According to the method and system in the invention, high routing for subscription and notification can be realized, and the advantages of simple configuration, strong expansibility, balanced load and the like are achieved.

Patient support table for use in magnetic resonace imaging

A patient table for a common imaging system including Magnetic Resonance and X-ray retains the patient stationary in position prior to, during and subsequent to the imaging and includes a base, a patient support portion cantilevered from the base and a mattress. The RF posterior coil portions for the head and for the chest can be inserted into and removed from an operating position underneath the head and chest of the patient while patient remains supported. The chest coil is inserted from one edge in a cavity in the mattress which is reinforced by a sleeve. The signal communication cable from the chest coil is routed in front of the mattress and over the mattress so as to not to be exposed at the sides. The head coil is carried on a base plate of the patient support alongside the head support which remains in place. <Gord: all are MR and X-ray compatible?>
