Digital security multimedia sensor

A fully digital camera system provides high-resolution still image and streaming video signals via a network to a centralized, server supported security and surveillance system. The digital camera for collects an image from one or more image transducers, compressing the image and sending the compressed digital image signal to a receiving station over a digital network. A plurality of image transducers or sensors may be included in a single camera unit, providing array imaging such as full 360 degree panoramic imaging, universal or spherical imaging and field imaging by stacking or arranging the sensors in an array. The multiple images are then compressed and merged at the camera in the desired format to permit transmission of the least amount of data to accomplish the desired image transmission. The camera also employs, or connects to, a variety of sensors other than the traditional image sensor. Sensors for fire, smoke, sound, glass breakage, motion, panic buttons, and the like, may be embedded in or connected to the camera. Data captured by these sensors may be digitized, compressed, and networked to detect notable conditions. An internal microphone and associated signal processing system may be equipped with suitable signal processing algorithms for the purpose of detecting suitable acoustic events and their location. In addition, the camera is equipped with a pair of externally accessible terminals where an external sensor may be connected. In addition, the camera may be equipped with a short-range receiver that may detect the activation of a wirelesspanic button’ carried by facility personnel. This ‘panic button’ may employ infrared, radio frequency (RF), ultrasonic, or other suitable methods to activate the camera's receiver.

Fuel injection device for internal combustion engines

PCT No. PCT / DE98 / 00945 Sec. 371 Date Jun. 30, 1999 Sec. 102(e) Date Jun. 30, 1999 PCT Filed Apr. 3, 1998 PCT Pub. No. WO99 / 15783 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 1, 1999A fuel injection device for internal combustion engines is proposed in which a fuel injection valve is controlled by the pressure in a pressure chamber, which acts on a pressure shoulder in its opening and closing direction. The pressure supply to the a pressure chamber is controlled by a control valve member which in turn is moved by a pressure in a working chamber. The pressure in the working chamber is controlled by a pre-control valve which has a closing body which, through the influence of the piezoelectric drive mechanism, is moved from a second valve seat to a first valve seat and thereby momentarily opens a relief line of the working chamber. This movement results in an opening of the control valve member and a supplying of high fuel pressure to the pressure chamber for purposes of injection. Thus a very small pre-injection quantity is produced. In order to produce a main injection quantity, the closing body is positioned in an intermediate position between the valve seats and a longer connection of the high-pressure fuel supply to the pressure chamber is consequently produced.

Methods and Apparatus for Storage and Translation of Entropy Encoded Software Embedded within a Memory Hierarchy

A system for translating compressed instructions to instructions in an executable format is described. A translation unit is configured to decompress compressed instructions into a native instruction format using X and Y indices accessed from a memory, a translation memory, and a program specified mix mask. A level 1 cache is configured to store the native instruction format for each compressed instruction. The memory may be configured as a paged instruction cache to store pages of compressed instructions intermixed with pages of uncompressed instructions. Methods of determining a mix mask for efficiently translating compressed instructions is also described. A genetic method uses pairs of mix masks as genes from a seed population of mix masks that are bred and may be mutated to produce pairs of offspring mix masks to update the seed population. A mix mask for efficiently translating compressed instructions is determined from the updated seed population.

Image processing apparatus and image processing method

ActiveUS20100142791A1Least expenditure of cost and timeRemove noise in imageImage enhancementReconstruction from projectionUltrasound attenuationImaging processing
An X-ray imaging system is provided with an FPD and an image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus is provided with a CPU, a coefficient table, an interpolator and a residual image remover. The CPU acquires an image taken with the FPD. A plurality of coefficients each corresponding to a parameter that changes an attenuation curve are previously stored in the coefficient table. The attenuation curve represents time-varying attenuation of a residual image of the previous image. In a case where the coefficient corresponding to a parameter of the present exposure is not contained in the coefficient table, an appropriate coefficient is calculated by interpolation based on the coefficients contained in the coefficient table. The residual image remover calculates the residual image based on the stored coefficient or the calculated coefficient and a time lapse between the previous and subsequent exposures, and removes the residual image from the present image.

The present invention includes: a rolled filter stretched between first and second winding shafts and, unused part of the filter being wound around the second winding shaft; a brush provided between the first and the second winding shafts so as to come into contact with a surface of the filter; a feeding mechanism for driving the first and the second winding shafts to take up or rewind the filter; and a feeding control unit for controlling the feeding mechanism. When activating a renewing operation for feeding unused part of the filter from the second winding shaft, the feeding control unit controls the feeding mechanism such that once the filter is taken up by the first winding shaft by an take-up amount La, the filter is rewound by the second winding shaft by a rewind amount Lb, and La and Lb satisfy a relationship La≧Lb. Without increasing the amount of the filter or the size of the device itself, the present invention can deliver adequate performance even in a dusty environment by a small number of filter renewing operations.

Bipolar transistor test structure with lateral test probe pads

Test probe pads are located lateral to, and spaced from, the emitter, base or collector region of a bipolar transistor, preferably on separate pedestals, and connected to their respective transistor regions by air bridges. The probe pads, transistor contacts and air bridges are preferably formed as common metallizations. In the case of an HBT, a gap in the subcollector below the air bridges insulates the test transistor from capacitor loading by the probe pads. The test transistors can be used to characterize both themselves and functional circuit transistors fabricated with the same process on the same wafer by testing at an intermediate stage of manufacture, thus allowing wafers to be discarded without completing the manufacture if their transistors do not meet specifications.
