Food pieces are partially immersed in the boiling oil, and therefore, less oil is required for frying foods, thereby, causing less energy consumption, less fat absorption by the food, less time for cooking, and less used oil for disposal. The frying process is fully automatic and requires minimal human involvement and chore.

Method and composition for metal finishing

The present invention describes a composition and method to control dimensional growth during an anodizing process. Potassium permanganate has been discovered, when added to an anodizing solution containing at least one acid, to minimize dimensional change. This novel composition and method were found to be safer, quicker and less expensive than the conventional method of anodizing aluminum. In addition, the novel composition and method were found to have superior properties to aluminum anodized by the conventional method with respect to durability and corrosion resistance. In addition to anodizing, the novel solution described herein is capable of several other uses including the removal of organic and metal contaminants from solution, producing black electroless nickel on a substrate, producing a bright nickel coating on a substrate such as aluminum, and cleaning and activating aluminum for plating.

The present invention relates to a binder composition comprising a glass powder with a particle size of at least less than 0.15 mm and an alkali activator containing at least one alkali metal and at least one silicate. Preferably, a sodium silicate with a SiO2:Na2O weight ratio between about 1.6:1 to about 2.0:1. Mixed with water, the binder composition can be cured at ambient temperature, but rapidly yields a very high strength at an elevated temperature between about 40° C. to about 120° C. Preferably, between about 70° C. to about 90° C. The invention further provides a method of making artificial stone using glass as a sole binder and aggregate.

Blending components containing less sulfur and / or less nitrogen than the oxidation feedstock are recovered from the reaction mixture. Advantageously, at least a portion of the immiscible acid-containing phase is recycled to the oxidation.
