542 results about "Ir absorption" patented technology

The IR absorption occurs largely as a result of atomic vibrations in a molecule which has a dipole moment. Thus, homonuclear molecules such as O 2 have no IR vibrational spectra; however, an SiOSi group may have bond-stretching and bond-bending oscillations which would have characteristic absorption in the IR.

Gas measurement system

A gas measurement system of this invention includes a detector assembly having a beamsplitter adapted to separate infrared radiation into a first beam and a second beam and a mirror adapted to receive the first beam from the beamsplitter. The first and second beams are directed to first and second detectors that are disposed in a common plane. In one embodiment, the optical elements are provided on or in an optical block. In another embodiment, the gas measurement system includes a housing that contains an infrared absorption gas measurement assembly, a luminescence quenching gas measurement assembly, and a processor that is programmed to measure gas constituents of a gas flow based on an output of the infrared absorption gas measurement assembly and the luminescence quenching gas measurement assembly.

Multi-dimensional parameter assessment method of aging degree of running composite insulator

The invention provides a multi-dimensional parameter assessment method of an aging degree of a running composite insulator. The method comprises the following steps: firstly measuring hardness, hydrophobicity, a surface defect area, an infrared absorption peak corresponding to a Si-O-Si group, a trap charge amount and a flashover voltage of a high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber test sample of an umbrella skirt of a target composite insulator; then performing quantitative processing on the measured data, and scoring the aging degrees of the processed feature parameters; performing weighted summation on the scores of the feature parameters to obtain a comprehensive feature parameter characterizing the aging degree of the composite insulator; and finally determining the aging degree of the insulator according to a corresponding relation between the size of the comprehensive feature parameter and the grade of the aging degree. According to the multi-dimensional parameter assessment method provided by the invention, the microscopic electrical characteristics and microscopic physical and chemical characteristics of the umbrella skirt material of the composite insulator are combined with macroscopic characteristics to realize the comprehensive assessment of the aging degree of the composite insulator. By adoption of the method, the one-sidedness of the traditional assessment method is avoided, and thus the accuracy of an assessment result is guaranteed.

Infrared imaging using thermal radiation from a scanning probe tip

A method for performing sub-micron optical spectroscopy, using a heated SPM probe and far-field collection optics is described. The enhanced emission characteristics at a sharp heated tip constitute a highly localized wideband IR source. Thus the IR absorption and emission properties of a sample surface adjacent can be observed and measured in the farfield even though the interaction region is sub-micron in scale. . . . providing spatial resolution mapping of sample composition.

Apparatus for providing a near-IR emission suppressing/color enhancing accessory device for plasma display panels

The present invention is directed to apparatus for enhancing the performance of visual display units which utilize plasma display panels. More specifically, the present invention provides apparatus for providing an electrical noise suppressing/chromaticity enhancing accessory device for positioning in front of the viewing surface of a plasma display panel (PDP). In its most basic embodiment, the accessory device of the present invention comprises an optically selective coating providing high photopic transmittance, continuous high electrical conductivity for RFI shielding, and reflectivity specifically within the near-IR region. It also preferably includes a multiple-dye coating for selectively absorbing IR energy emissions and selectively balancing the chromaticity of the PDP display and a plastic substrate layer to provide impact resistance. The combination of the IR absorption and color-correction due to the multiple-dye coating and the near-IR reflectivity due to the optically selective coating surprisingly results in very good suppression of IR emissions from the PDP within the spectral range of about 800 to about 2500 nm and chromaticity enhancement while simultaneously maintaining good photopic transmittance.

Infrared absorption structure and uncooled infrared detector based on infrared absorption structure

The invention discloses an infrared absorption structure and an uncooled infrared detector based on the infrared absorption structure. The structure is composed of a bottom infrared reflecting layer with high conductivity, a first insulating layer, an infrared sensitive layer, a second insulating layer and a surface structure layer, wherein the above-mentioned layers are overlaid successively. The surface structure layer is manufactured by nonmetal conductive materials and has an island-like array structure in a circle or square shape, wherein the array structure is distributed according to two-dimension period. On the basis of the structure of the surface structure layer, it is easy to design a high-infrared absorption structure with a certain spectral width by selecting an appropriate surface conductive property; meanwhile, an infrared response of wide angle can be obtained. An infrared detector based on the infrared absorption structure has advantages of low thermal mass and no limitation of a cavity height of thermal insulation. Moreover, the infrared absorption structure is not sensitive to an incident angle of infrared radiation. Therefore, the infrared absorption structurecan be widely applied to fields including an infrared biochemical sensor, an infrared spectrometer, and an uncooled infrared thermal imaging system and the like.
