The invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The pharmaceutical composition is composed of Periplaneta americana, aspirin and one or two selected from a group consisting of red sage roots and Rhizoma Chuanxiong. Specifically, the pharmaceutical composition comprises, by weight, 40 to 60 parts of Periplaneta americana, 20 to 50 partsof red sage roots and 5 to 20 parts of aspirin; or the pharmaceutical composition comprises, by weight, 40 to 60 parts of Periplaneta americana, 20 to 50 parts of Rhizoma Chuanxiong and 5 to 20 partsof aspirin; or the pharmaceutical composition comprises, by weight, 40 to 60 parts of Periplaneta americana, 15 to 25 parts of red sage roots, 15 to 25 parts of Rhizoma Chuanxiong and 5 to 20 parts ofaspirin. The pharmaceutical composition provided by the invention can effectively improve stomach damage caused by long-term taking of aspirin, effectively prevents formation of thrombus while reducing the dose of aspirin, lower the possibility of formation of cerebral infarction and reduces the drug toxicity of aspirin.
