The invention relates to a method for preparing a foamed glass insulation board by coal ash. The coal ash and glass powder are respectively put into a ball mill for dry grinding and iron in the coal ash is removed, the coal ash after iron removal, glass powder after grinding and sieving and cerium oxide are dryly ground to form mixed material, the mixed material is put into a steel mould to be pressed into a flat green body; and the pressed green body is put into an aluminum oxide sagger which is evenly spread with aluminium oxide powder at the bottom, put into a silicon carbon rod resistancefurnace to be sintered, cooled and annealed, thus obtaining the foamed glass insulation board. The coal ash is used for preparing the foamed glass insulation board in the invention, which is not onlybeneficial for saving natural resources and reducing production cost but also beneficial for environmental protection. The coal ash can be smashed without a high power crusher and is even in mixing; meanwhile the coal ash contains a great amount of hollow cenospheres and melikaria and has low heat conductivity and thermostability characteristics. The cerium oxide is used as foaming agent to causefoaming temperature to be easily controlled, so as to simplify technology and reduce energy consumption, thus being beneficial for industrialized production.
