Method for rapid mold heating and cooling

A method for rapidly heating a mold cavity to a predetermined temperature preferably above the softening or melting temperature of the molding material prior to and during the molding stage thereby increasing moldability and improving quality of molded parts. The mold cavity is formed by two metallic halves on which high-frequency electric current is applied and an electric circuit involving the two halves is formed. Due to the proximity effect, the electrical current flows on the inner surfaces of the two cavity halves, thus rapidly heating the mold cavity. Proper use of insulation behind the cavity surface helps increase heating efficiency. Conformal on-off cooling channels provide both thermal insulation during the heating phase and rapidly cooling of the molded article during the cooling phase.

Microwave plasma nozzle with enhanced plume stability and heating efficiency

Systems and methods for generating relatively cool microwave plasma are disclosed. The present invention provides a microwave plasma nozzle that includes a gas flow tube through which a gas flows, and a rod-shaped conductor that is disposed in the gas flow tube and has a tapered tip near the outlet of the gas flow tube. A portion of the rod-shaped conductor extends into a microwave cavity to receive microwaves passing in the cavity. These received microwaves are focused at the tapered tip to heat the gas into plasma. The microwave plasma nozzle also includes a vortex guide between the rod-shaped conductor and the gas flow tube imparting a helical shaped flow direction around the rod-shaped conductor to the gas flowing through the tube. The microwave plasma nozzle further includes a mechanism for electronically exciting the gas and a shielding mechanism for reducing a microwave power loss through the gas flow tube.

Method for manufacturing wet fuel by rapid common thermal decomposition of biomass and coal

The invention provides a method that a biomass and coal are pyrolyzed rapidly to prepare liquid fuel, which belongs to the technology field of energy and chemical industry. The reaction system consists of a riser combustion reactor (10) and a biomass / coal rapid co-pyrolysis reactor. The two reactors are linked circularly through a solid heat carrier. A pyrolysis reactor consists of an upper pyrolysis reactor mixing section (5), a middle pyrolysis reactor cocurrent pyrolysis section (6) and a lower pyrolysis reactor gas-solid separation section (7); the quality ratio of the biomass and the coal is 95 / 5 to 50 / 50; the byproduct hydrogen rich gas led for circular reuse in the pyrolysis reactor is regarded as carrier gas and quenching gas; the co-pyrolysis char is completely burnt in the riser combustion reactor (10). The beneficial effects of the invention are capable of operating under normal temperature, simple in process, high in heat efficiency, high in liquid fuel yield, good in quality and suitable for the co-pyrolysis liquefaction of the solid biomass and low rank coal.
