A filter assembly for use in sidestream gas sampling assembly. The filter assembly of the present invention includes a hydrophilic liner lining the inner perimeter of a housing for wicking moisture from the gases to be monitored prior to the gases reaching a sensing mechanism. The filter further includes a hydrophobic member positioned downstream of the hydrophilic liner. The hydrophobic disk acts as a second line of defense against moisture reaching the sensing mechanism. In one embodiment, the filter further include an absorbent layer positioned between the cylindrical housing and the hydrophilic layer to aid in wicking moisture from the gas stream. In a further embodiment, the hydrophobic disk is eliminated and the hydrophilic member is situated such that gas entering the filter assembly must pass through at least a portion the hydrophilic member.

Preparation method of industrial alkali lignin/polyvinyl alcohol cross-linked thin film

Alkali lignin is a main by-product of the papermaking industry of our country, and sever environmental pollution will be caused by direct discharge of alkali lignin. The invention discloses a preparation method of an industrial alkali lignin / polyvinyl alcohol cross-linked thin film, so as to increase utilization ratio of lignin, reduce environmental pollution and ease the resource crisis. The industrial alkali lignin / polyvinyl alcohol cross-linked thin film is prepared by following steps, industrial alkali lignin and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) are taken as raw materials, and are crosslinked by a cross-linking agent; and then the mixture is subjected to tape casting so as to obtain the alkali lignin / polyvinyl alcohol cross-linked thin film. An optimized preparation technology is obtained based on mechanical properties. The mechanical properties of the industrial alkali lignin / polyvinyl alcohol cross-linked thin film are better than that of industrial polyvinyl alcohol films; absorption rate on ultraviolet light is about 100%; and transmittance is reduced to a certain degree. Blending compatibility of alkali lignin and PVA is excellent; the surfaces of alkali lignin and polyvinyl alcohol thin films, which are prepared by blending or crosslinking, are smooth; and phase separation is not caused. Thermal stability of the industrial alkali lignin / PVA cross-linked thin film is increased. The industrial alkali lignin / PVA cross-linked thin film can be used as an excellent ultraviolet absorption material, and it is possible to develop a novel specific packaging material or mulching film.

Preparation of Ag loaded TiO2-ZnO inverse opal photonic crystal photocatalytic material

The invention relates to a preparation method of a photocatalytic material for an Ag loaded TiO2-ZnO inverse opal photonic crystal. Specifically, the method includes: taking poly(styrene-acrylamide) microsphere photonic crystal as a template, conducting filling with TiO2-ZnO composite sol, conducting ignition to remove the template, thus obtaining a TiO2-ZnO inverse opal photonic crystal; adsorbing AgNO3, and reducing Ag<+> into nano-Ag by ultraviolet irradiation so as to obtain the nano-Ag loaded TiO2-ZnO inverse opal photonic crystal; and representing the surface appearance and photonic band gap through a scanning electron microscope and a reflection spectrum. Under the irradiation of a metal halide light, the prepared photonic crystal shows good photocatalytic performance on photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B, which is decided by a high specific surface area of the inverse opal photonic crystal and the photocatalytic properties of noble metal nano-particles. The method provided by the invention is of important significance for preparation and development of novel photocatalytic materials.
