The preparation process of multifunctional honeycomb ceramic filter element includes the step of preparing honeycomb ceramic and the step of preparing nanometer photocatalytic desulfurizing film on the honeycomb ceramic. The honeycomb ceramic is prepared with industrial alumina powder, kaolin powder and talcum powder in the weight ratio of 14 to 43 to 43, and through mixing, squeezing, ageing, extruding to form the biscuit, drying and sintering in a high temperature furnace at 1390 deg.c for 4 hr. The honeycomb ceramic filter element is prepared through sol-gel process to prepare TiO2 sol and ZnFe2O4 sol, mixing into stable mixture sol, applying the mixture sol onto honeycomb ceramic, drying, calcining at 500 deg.c for 1 to form one film layer, repeating the applying-drying-calcining process for 3-6 times to prepare the honeycomb ceramic filter element with excellent functions of eliminating harmful gases and desulfurizing.
