A system for heating at least a part of a subsurface hydro carbonaceous earth formation forms a borehole into or adjacent to the formation, places elongated coaxial inner and outer conductors into the borehole with the inner and outer conductors electrically connected to each other at a depth below the top of the formation, and connects an AC power source to at least the outer conductor to produce heat in at least one of the conductors. The AC output has a controlled frequency, and the outer conductor comprises a standard oil well component made of a ferromagnetic material that conducts current from the AC power source in only a surface region of the conductor due to the skin effect phenomenon. More heat is dissipated from portions of the conductor that is within the depth range of the formation than from other portions of the conductor. The inner conductor may optionally be a standard tubular oil well component made of a ferromagnetic material that conducts current from the AC power source in only a surface region of the conductor due to the skin effect phenomenon.

Support for cage and bottle style intermediate bulk container

The present invention provides a system and method for using a liner in conjunction with the cage of a bottle and cage type IBC. The invention involves use of a support that is placed inside the cage of a bottle and cage type IBC. In one embodiment, the support may be a thin sheet of material that conforms to the inner surface of the cage. In an alternative embodiment, the support may be a bottle from a cage and bottle type IBC that has been modified by removing the discharge valve spout. In the case that a liner is used in conjunction with the cage, the support forms a barrier between the liner and the cage to prevent the liner from extruding through the bars of the cage. An aperture in the support may allow a discharge valve of a liner to extend outwardly for easy access to the item.

Gel-filled seismic streamer cable

A gel-filled seismic streamer containing a hydroplane housing which isolates a hydrophone element from shear waves and mechanical forces but sensitive to pressure waves. In one embodiment, the gel-filled streamers contains a hydrophone housing with an air pocket at each end for isolating a pressure sensitive hydrophone element from mechanical noise generated by cable movement during seismic data acquisition operations. The hydrophone housing further provides a protective case to isolate a pressure-sensitive hydrophone element from shear waves. An inlet formed in the protective hydrophone housing enables pressure waves to be communicated to the pressure sensitive hydrophone element inside of the housing. In one embodiment, the pressure sensitive hydrophone element is a hollow gel-filled cylinder that expands radially outward into a second air gap formed in the housing. A protective case is also provided to isolate the hydrophone housing from shear waves. Method for manufacturing graphene-coated object, negative electrode of secondary battery including graphene-coated object, and secondary battery including the negative electrode

To form graphene to a practically even thickness on an object having an uneven surface or a complex surface, in particular, an object having a surface with a three-dimensional structure due to complex unevenness, or an object having a curved surface. The object and an electrode are immersed in a graphene oxide solution, and voltage is applied between the object and the electrode. At this time, the object serves as an anode. Graphene oxide is attracted to the anode because of being negatively charged, and deposited on the surface of the object to have a practically even thickness. A portion where graphene oxide is deposited is unlikely coated with another graphene oxide. Thus, deposited graphene oxide is reduced to graphene, whereby graphene can be formed to have a practically even thickness on an object having surface with complex unevenness.
