The system may allow the user to issue control commands (e.g., “channel up”) from the media player to the broadcaster, causing the source device to execute the commands. The broadcaster and the media player may employ several techniques for buffering, transmitting, and viewing the content to improve the user's experience.

System and method for fast cold start of a GPS receiver in a telecommunications environment

A telecommunications system and method for rapid start-up of a Global Position System (GPS) receiver integrated with a mobile terminal is disclosed. The location of a reference GPS receiver associated with a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) within the cell that the mobile terminal is currently located is used as the local position estimate for that mobile terminal. The GSM TDMA frame numbers are first correlated with the GPS clock signal. Optionally, this correlation is adjusted using the adaptive frame alignment mechanism. This local position estimate is used to ascertain the location of the GPS receiver. The correlation data is then sent to the GPS-capable mobile terminal through the Short Messaging Service (SMS) cell broadcast facility or the Broadcast Control Channel (BCCH) facility of the GSM network to enable the built-in GPS receiver to calculate its position relatively quickly.

System executing a fast boot wake-up

A processing system is set forth that includes a processor, read only memory storing an operating system image file accessible by the processor, and random access memory that is also accessible by the processor. The processing system also includes a boot program that is executable by the processor to initialize the processing system in response, for example, to a power-on event, reset event, or a wake-up event. A power-on event occurs when power is initially provided to the processing system while a wake-up event occurs when the processing system is to exit a low-power mode of operation. A reset event occurs when, for example, a fault is detected that causes the system to restart. The boot program selectively performs a full boot copy of the operating system image file from the read only memory to the random access memory or a fast boot copy of only predetermined portions of the operating system image file from the read only memory to the random access memory. For example, the boot program may execute the full boot copy operation in response to the power-on event and the fast boot copy operation in response to the wake-up event and / or reset event. Further, the boot program may limit execution of the fast boot copy operation to those instances in which the random access memory passes an integrity check of the contents of one or more areas containing selected portions of the operating system copied from the read only memory during a prior full boot copy operation.

Fast start-up low-voltage bandgap voltage reference circuit

A fast start-up low-voltage bandgap voltage reference circuit is proposed. The bandgap voltage reference circuit comprises: a first current generator, which is implemented by a self-bias unit and a current mirror for generating a first reference current with positive temperature coefficient; a second current generator, which is connected to a point with negative temperature coefficient in the first current generator to generate a second reference current with negative temperature coefficient; and a resister for converting the first reference current and the second reference current into a low-voltage bandgap voltage independent of temperature. Because the bandgap voltage reference circuit of the invention uses the resistor to convert the first reference current and the second reference current into voltage, the circuit can provide low-voltage bandgap voltage.

Low-energy storage fast-start uninterruptible power supply method

An uninterruptible power supply system has standby and backup modes and can change to backup mode upon detection of a grid fault. In both modes an alternator rotates at synchronous speed so that backup mode capability is ready. An energy storage unit through a DC-AC inverter remains coupled to the grid in standby mode so that it is charged, ready to supply power when changed to backup mode. In standby mode, first and third clutches are disengaged and engaged, transmitting alternator rotary motion to a flywheel but not therefrom to a heat engine. In backup mode, first and third clutch are engaged and disengaged to permit the alternator, via a second clutch, to overrun the flywheel and allow transmitting of flywheel torque to accelerate the heat engine to starting speed for driving the alternator to supply power to the grid after the engine is at operating speed and coupled to the alternator through a locked second clutch and an engaged third clutch.

Soft-start circuit and method for power-up of an amplifier circuit

A method and circuit for providing a soft start-up process for an amplifier circuit to reduce or prevent destructive overshoot of an output voltage are provided. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, an exemplary method and circuit are configured to suitably momentarily replace an actual fixed reference voltage with a second reference voltage during the start-up process. Such a method and circuit can provide a fast start-up process without destructive overshoot and without affecting or compromising any control loop of the amplifier circuit, and can be configured within various applications. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, an exemplary amplifier circuit is configured with a soft-start circuit, with the soft-start circuit configured to provide a secondary reference voltage during initial start-up before switching to an actual reference voltage. For example, an exemplary start-up circuit can be configured to generate a secondary reference voltage, and then though monitoring of a feedback voltage from an amplifier circuit, suitably switch in the secondary reference voltage and actual reference voltage to provide a controlled start-up process.

Thermal management system and control method for hydrogen fuel cell vehicle

The invention relates to a thermal management system and control method for a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. The method includes an expansion kettle, a water pump, an electronic thermostat, a fuel cell radiator, a solenoid valve, a fuel cell stack and an ion exchanger. In order to overcome the restriction that an existing fuel cell stack can not be started under the condition of too low ambient temperature, an auxiliary water heating scheme is designed in a small circulation branch to achieve the fast start-up of the fuel cell stack at low temperature and improve the adaptability of the fuel cellstack to the low temperature environment. The waste heat recovery and utilization of the fuel cell stack can be achieved by adding an auxiliary air-conditioning water heating and heat exchange systemin a water system. The electricity demand of an air heater is reduced, the electric energy of the whole vehicle is saved, and the endurance range of vehicles in winter is increased. Through the design improvement of a degassing device for the fuel cell stack, the degassing problem of the fuel cell stack water system in the process of filling and operation is solved, and the reliability of the fuel cell heat management system is improved.
