Elasticity of the adhesive is improved by xanthan gum, carrageenan and the like, so that shrinkage and cracking are reduced, and good film-forming strength is kept. The preparation method comprisesthe following steps: dissolving vegetable proteins in water, adjusting the pH value of the obtained solution to 7-11 by using alkaline hydroxide, and stirring at 50 DEG C for 2 h to prepare a vegetable protein solution; adding polysaccharides, performing ultrasonic treatment to uniformly disperse the polysaccharides in the vegetable protein solution, adding glucosamine and protease, and stirring overnight at 37 DEG C; and performing high-pressure homogenization to obtain the wood adhesive. The formula of the soybean-based wood adhesive only contains proteins, polysaccharides, low-concentrationweak base and glucosamine, does not contain formaldehyde, and is green and pollution-free; and protease modification and glucosamine modification technologies enable the soybean protein and the polysaccharides to form a uniform, compatible and stable network structure, so that the bonding strength and the water resistance of the adhesive are improved.
