The present invention provides a catalyst for polyester production capable of producing a polyester with high catalytic activity and a process for producing a polyester using the catalyst. The catalyst for polyester production comprises a solid titanium compound which is obtained by dehydro-drying a hydrolyzate obtained by hydrolysis of a titanium halide and which has a molar ratio (OH/Ti) of a hydroxyl group (OH) to titanium (Ti) exceeding 0.09 and less than 4. The present invention also provides a method to obtain a polyester having a small increase of the acetaldehyde content during the molding. This method comprises bringing a polyester, which is obtained by the use of a titanium compound catalyst and in which the reaction has been completed, into contact with a phosphoric ester aqueous solution or the like having a concentration of not less than 10 ppm in terms of phosphorus atom. The present invention further provides a polyester having excellent transparency and tint and molded products of the polyester such as a blow molded article, a film, a sheet and a fiber. The polyester is obtained by polycondensing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof and an aliphatic diol or an ester-forming derivative thereof in the presence of a catalyst for polyester production which comprises a polycondensation catalyst component comprising a solid titanium compound and a co-catalyst component comprising a magnesium compound. This polyester has a titanium content of 1 to 100 ppm, a magnesium content of 1 to 200 ppm and a weight ratio (Mg/Ti) of magnesium to titanium of not less than 0.01.

A method for recovering nickel from an sulfuric acid aqueous solution, for recovering nickel in an effectively utilizable form as a raw material of nickel industry material, by separating efficiently impurity elements of iron, aluminum, manganese and the like, from the sulfuric acid aqueous solution containing nickel and cobalt, and the impurity elements, iron, aluminum, manganese and the like.The method is characterized by comprising the following steps (1) to (5).step (1): to subject the sulfuric acid aqueous solution to oxidation neutralization treatment.step (2): then, to subject the solution to neutralization treatment, and to separate and recover mixed hydroxides containing nickel and cobalt.step (3): to subject the mixed hydroxides to dissolution treatment in a sulfuric acid solution having a concentration of equal to or higher than 50% by mass.step (4): to subject the concentrated solution to solvent extraction treatment, using a phosphate ester-based acidic extraction agent.step (5): by adding a neutralizing agent to the resultant extraction residual liquid, to subject the solution to the neutralization treatment, and to separate and recover nickel hydroxide generated.

The invention provides a phosphorus-contained organic silicon resin fire retardant shown as a following formula and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of the phosphorus-contained organic silicon resin fire retardant comprises the following steps: firstly, adopting polyalcohol and phosphorus oxychloride as raw materials to prepare chlorinated volution phosphoester; then carrying out hydrolytic condensation on amino-containing silane, dialkoxy silane and trialkoxysilane to obtain amino-containing organic silicon resin; finally dissolving the amino-containing organic silicon resin into a methylbenzene solvent, an N,N-dimethyl fomamide solvent or an acetonitrile solvent, and the like, and adding the chlorinated volution phosphoester and an acid-binding agent for synthesis to obtain the phosphorus-containing organic silicon resin fire retardant. The phosphorus-containing organic silicon resin fire retardant can be used as a fire retardant for polyolefin, makrolan, ABS, nylon and PC / ABS, has high efficiency and low toxicity compared with the traditional fire retardant and is an environmental protection type fire retardant for plastics. R1, R2, R3 and R4 are respectively selected from CH3 or C6H5, R5 is selected from CH2 or CH2CH2 or CH2CH2NHCH2CH2, and R6 is selected from the CH3 or C2H5; n is equal to integers of 1 subtracting 50, P is equal to integers of 1 subtracting 50, and q is equal to integers of 1 subtracting 50.
