The invention belongs to the technical field of construction materials, and specifically relates to an environmentally friendly ceramic ganged brick prepared from copper tailings and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises following steps: (1) preparing following raw materials in percentage by weight: 60 to 80% of copper tailings, 5 to 20% of kaolin, 8 to 12% of talcum, and5 to 15% of a high temperature flux, and preparing a green brick; (2) preparing glaze slurry from following components in percentage by weight: 15 to 25% of copper tailings, 25 to 30% of low temperature frit, 15 to 20% of potash feldspar, 15 to 17% of calcite, 10 to 12% of dolomite, 2 to 4% of calcined talcum, 2 to 4% of kaolin, 2 to 4% of zinc oxide, and 3 to 5% of spodumene; and (3) painting theglaze slurry on the green brick, drying, and burning. The environmentally friendly ceramic ganged brick is mainly prepared from copper tailings, a novel approach is provided for recovering copper tailings, the method has an important meaning for environment protection; and moreover, the ganged brick has the advantages of low sintering temperature, high strength, good regularity, and beautiful appearance.
