The braking paint comprises the following materials by weight percentage: 30-40 of water-based acrylic resin, 2-10 of amino resin, 1-3 of neutralizing agent, 2-5 of compound rustproofing pigment, 1-3 of tinting pigment, 10-20 of filling agent, 0.1-0.5 of defoaming agent, 0.1-0.5 of flatting agent and 25-40 of deionized water, wherein the water-based acrylic resin is a free radical polymerization resultant which comprises the following materials by weight percentage: 10-30 of monomer containing hydroxy acrylic acid, 5-20 of monomer containing carboxyl acrylic acid, 2-8 of internal crosslinking monomer, 20-40 of other acrylic acid monomer, 15-30 of phenyl ethylene monomer, 1-5 of evocating agent and 40-50 of alcohol ether latent solvent. When the paint is prepared, the dispersion and the abrading condition of the pigments and the filling agents are reasonably controlled to ensure that each component of the paint fully plays the respective function. Preferably the wax includes a high molecular weight polyethylene glycol or methoxy polyethylene glycol having an average melting point of from about 80.degree. F. (27.degree. F.) to about 150.degree. F. (80.degree. C.). These additives impart low dusting properties without a sticky or oily feel. High molecular weight synthetic waxes also act as an internal binder to hold the joint compound together and improves paint gloss retention. After the resin emulsion is prepared into a cathode electrophoretic coating varnish and forms a film, a contact angle of a coating film and water is 100-120 degrees, therefore, the hydrophobicity, the weathering resistance and the decoration of the water-borne cathode electrophoretic coating are greatly improved.

The coating has the advantages that easily-volatile organic compounds are reduced with water as a diluent.

The invention provides water-borne acrylic-modified alkyd resin emulsion which comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 15-25% of polyester modified alkyd resin, 10-20% of a glycol ether solvent, 5-20% of a propylene glycol ether solvent, 0-5% of n-butanol, 5-8% of vinyl monomer, 15-25% of acrylic monomer, 2-6% of BPO, 4-7% of organic amine and 21% of deionized water, wherein the polyester modified alkyd resin comprises the following components: 12-20% of rosin, 22-30% of unsaturated fatty acid, 25-35% of polyester, 3-8% of diethylene glycol, 1-5% of pentaerythritol, 7-12% of maleic anhydride, 3-10% of xylene, 0.5-2.5% of sodium hydrogen sulfite and 10% of a glycol ether solvent and a propylene glycol ether solvent. Compared with the prior art, the water-borne acrylic-modified alkyd resin emulsion has the benefits of higher environment friendliness and better water solubility.
