According to the method provided by the invention, biomass-refined lignin, namely enzymatic hydrolysis lignin which is wide in source and low in price is selected as the raw material to carry out modification by alkaline activation on the lignin. More active functional groups such as phenolic hydroxyl groups are exposed for the activated lignin, so that the water solubility of the lignin is increased, and meanwhile, the molecular weight is reduced, thereby improving the reaction activity with formaldehyde and replacing phenol in a higher proportion. The method is significant for realizing development and utilization of the lignin which is a huge renewable resource.
