melamine foam and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of
high polymer materials. According to the low-water-absorption heat-preservation hard
melamine foam, the density is smaller than 53 kg / m<3>, the water absorption is as low as 6.7%, the heat
conductivity coefficient is as low as 0.034 W / m.K, the percentage of closed area reaches 80%, the compression strength reaches 300 kPa, and the limit
oxygen index reaches up to 35%. In the preparation process, short-chain hydrophobic
alcohol micromolecules and
solid filler are added; a 'suspended' short-chain hydrophobic
alkyl group is introduced into a side group of a molecular chain of a
melamine resin
prepolymer modified by short-chain hydrophobic
alcohol micromolecules, so that the hydrophobicity of the resin is effectively improved, and meanwhile, the content of the 'suspended' short chain with relatively good flexibility is increased, so that the
toughness of the resin can be improved, and the foam pulverization rate is reduced. In the
preparation stage of the modified hydrophobic melamine
prepolymer foaming liquid, a
solid filler is added as a nucleating agent to adjust a foam structure, and free energy barriers for growth of bubble nuclei can be effectively reduced to promote heterogeneous
nucleation, so that the low-water-absorption heat-preservation hard
melamine foam which is small in foam size and uniform in distribution is prepared.
