Method and apparatus for destroying dividing cells

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for selectively destroying dividing cells in living tissue formed of dividing cells and non-dividing cells. The dividing cells contain polarizable intracellular members and during late anaphase or telophase, the dividing cells are connected to one another by a cleavage furrow. According to the present method the living tissue is subjected to electric field conditions sufficient to cause movement of the polarizable intracellular members toward the cleavage furrow in response to a non-homogenous electric field being induced in the dividing cells. The non-homogenous electric field produces an increased density electric field in the region of the cleavage furrow. The movement of the polarizable intracellular members towards the cleavage furrow causes the break down thereof which results in destruction of the dividing cells, while the non-dividing cells of the living tissue remain intact.

The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly coating the surface of a substrate with zinc oxide seed crystal sol by virtue of a spin coating method or a spray coating method, so as to obtain a uniform nano-seed crystal layer; then controlling the hanging altitude and the position in a low-concentration growth solution prepared from KOH and Zn(NO3)2 by virtue of a vertical cotton thread hanging technique, so as to obtain a transparent zinc oxide nano-array, and carrying out fluorination to construct excellent super-hydrophobicity; and carrying out double-surface coating, sintering and growth on the substrate, so as to obtain the transparent super-hydrophobic nano-array on two surfaces of the substrate. Liquid drops with condensed and frosted surfaces are of a sphere shape, small in sizes, extremely easy to combine and bounce, high in desorption rate and low in coverage rate, present excellent frosting resistance and have important application prospects in products of building exterior glass, solar cells, automotive glass and the like, and furthermore, concepts can be provided for application of dropwise condensation, frosting resisting, freezing resisting and the like.

Process and Apparatus for Treating Nitrogeneous Liquor

A process and apparatus for treating an aqueous nitrogeneous liquor by performing ammonia oxidation and denitrification using a biosludge comprising anammox bacteria and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria, which process and apparatus can serve to obtain treated liquor of high water quality at a high treating efficiency and a high yield of ammonium nitrogen removal with easy control of supply rate of oxygen-containing gas. The technique comprises the steps of charging a reaction vessel having stored therein a biosludge comprising anammox bacteria and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria present as a suspension with a definite amount of the liquor to be treated, supplying thereto an oxygen-containing gas at a rate not obstructing growth of the anammox bacteria to thereby cause ammonia oxidation of ammonium nitrogen into nitrite nitrogen by the ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and denitrification by the anammox bacteria simultaneously, or performing the denitrification in steps by charging the reaction vessel with a part amount of one treating batch of the liquor to be treated, whereupon supply of the oxygen-containing gas is stopped and the reaction liquor is replenished with the rest amount of the liquor to be treated. The supply of the oxygen-containing gas is stopped at a point of time at which the observed value of dissolved oxygen concentration or of ORP of the reaction liquor in the reaction vessel changes abruptly.
