Silicon gas injector and method of making

A gas injector tube usable in a batch thermal treatment oven including two silicon shells joined together with an adhesive formed of a fine silicon powder and a curable silica-forming agent, such as a spin-on glass, which is ultrasonically homogenized. The tube may have a gas outlet on its distal end or be sealed with a silicon cap and have side outlet holes formed along its side. The silicon injector tube may be used in combination with a silicon tower and a silicon liner so that all bulk parts within the furnace hot zone are formed of silicon.

Ammonothermal process for bulk synthesis and growth of cubic GaN

A method of growing single-crystals of a cubic (zinc blende) form of gallium nitride, the method comprising the steps of: placing into a reaction tube or acid resistant vessel a gallium source, anhydrous ammonia, an acid mineralizer and a metal halide salt selected from the group consisting of alkali metal halides, copper halides, tin halides, lanthanide halides and combinations thereof; closing said reaction tube or vessel; heating said reaction tube; cooling said reaction tube or vessel; and collecting single-crystals of cubic (zinc blende) form of GaN; wherein said reaction tube or vessel has a temperature gradient with a hot zone of at least 250° C., wherein said reaction tube or vessel has a temperature gradient with a cool zone of at least 150° C., and wherein said acid mineralizer has a sufficient concentration to permit chemical transport of GaN in said reaction tube or vessel from said hot zone to said cool zone due to said temperature gradient within said reaction tube or vessel.

Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Device and System

The invention provides a solid oxide fuel cell device and a fuel cell system incorporating a plurality of the fuel devices, each device including an elongate substrate the length of which is the greatest dimension such that the elongate substrate has a coefficient of thermal expansion having only one dominant axis that is coextensive with the length. A reaction zone is provided along a first portion of the length for heating to an operating reaction temperature, and at least one cold zone is provided along a second portion of the length that remains at a low temperature below the operating reaction temperature when the reaction zone is heated. A plurality of fuel passages and oxidizer passages are provided in the elongate substrate extending from the at least one cool zone to the reaction zone, each fuel passage having an associated anode in the reaction zone, and each oxidizer passage having an associated cathode in the reaction zone positioned in opposing relation to a respective one of the associated anodes. An electrolyte is disposed between each of the opposing anodes and cathodes in the reaction zone. The system further includes the devices positioned with their first portions in a hot zone chamber and their cold zones extending outside the hot zone chamber. A heat source is coupled to the hot zone chamber to heat the reaction zones to the operating reaction temperature. A fuel supply is coupled outside the hot zone chamber to the at least one cold zones in fluid communication with the fuel passages for supplying a fuel flow into the fuel passages.

Inter-cellular base station offloading method based on MEC (Mobile Edge Computing)

The invention discloses an inter-cellular base station offloading method based on MEC (Mobile Edge Computing). The method comprises the following steps: sending a reference signal carrying a collaboration cluster building request to a peripheral base station by a hot zone base station; receiving a report of at least one base station by the hot zone base station, selecting N collaboration base stations of which channels are better and remaining computing resources are enough to compute an offloading request within a preset time slot, and building a collaboration cluster; initializing transmission power of the hot zone base station specific to the collaboration base stations in the collaboration cluster, and judging whether the transmission power meets a time delay requirement of the offloading request or not; and determining a joint utility value according to the transmission power and time delay of the hot zone base station, and selecting transmission power in a group of data with a minimum joint utility value as actual transmission power. Through adoption of the inter-cellular base station offloading method based on the MEC disclosed by the invention, the user quality of experience of a hot zone is improved; the power consumption is lowered as much as possible; and meanwhile the utilization ratio of computing resources of a small base station is increased.

Headlamp for vehicle

A headlamp having a plurality of lighting units using light emitting diodes as light sources. A cutoff line forming unit, hot zone forming units, and a diffusion region forming unit are used as these lighting units. Consequently, a light distribution pattern for a low beam having a desirable pattern shape and light intensity distribution can be obtained as the synthetic light distribution pattern of light distribution patterns formed by the irradiation of a light from these three kinds of lighting units.

Crystal manufacturing

An implementation of a Czochralski-type crystal growth has been shown and embodied. More particularly, a furnace with suitable insulation and flow arrangement is shown to improve the cost-efficiency of production of crystals. That is achieved by the shown new hot-zone structure, gas flows and the growth process which can decrease the power consumption, increase the lifetime of hot-zone parts and improve the productivity, e.g., by giving means for opening the hot-zone and easily adapting the hot-zone to a new crystal diameter.
