154 results about "Hb - Hemoglobin" patented technology

A low hemoglobin count is a commonly seen blood test result. Hemoglobin (Hb or Hgb) is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body. In many cases, a low hemoglobin count is only slightly lower than normal and doesn't affect how you feel.

Method and apparatus for reflected imaging analysis

Method and apparatus for reflected imaging analysis. Reflected imaging is used to perform non-invasive, in vivo analysis of a subject's vascular system. A raw reflected image (110) is normalized with respect to the background to form a corrected reflected image (120). An analysis image (130) is segmented from the corrected reflected image to include a scene of interest for analysis. The method and apparatus can be used to determine such characteristics as the hemoglobin concentration per unit volume of blood, the number of white blood cells per unit volume of blood, a mean cell volume, the number of platelets per unit volume of blood, and the hematocrit. Cross-polarizers can be used to improve visualization of the reflected image.

Hybrid spectrophotometric monitoring of biological constituents

Systems, methods, and related computer program products for non-invasive NIR spectrophotometric (NIRS) monitoring of total blood hemoglobin levels and / or other blood constituent levels based on a hybrid combination of phase modulation spectrophotometry (PMS) and continuous wave spectrophotometry (CWS) are described. PMS-based measurements including both amplitude and phase information used in the determination of a non-pulsatile component of an absorption property for each of at least three distinct wavelengths are processed to compute PMS-derived intermediate information at least partially representative of a scattering characteristic. CWS-based measurements including amplitude information is processed in conjunction with the PMS-derived intermediate information to compute a pulsatile component of the absorption property. A metric representative of at least one chromophore level, such as the total blood hemoglobin level, is computed from the pulsatile component of the absorption property at the at least three wavelengths and displayed on an output display.

The invention belongs to the technical field of preparation of platelet rich plasma, and in particular discloses a method for preparing PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) through a manual two-step centrifugation method. The method comprises the following steps: centrifuging 25 ml of whole blood mixed with an anticoagulant for 6 minutes at centrifugal force of 800 g for the first time by adopting the two-step centrifugation method, absorbing plasma on the upper layer and on boundary layer in the layered whole blood, and arranging the plasma in an another centrifugal tube; centrifuging for the second time, namely centrifuging for 5 minutes at centrifugal force of 1400 g, and absorbing about 4 ml of the layered plasma on the middle layer to obtain the platelet rich plasma. According to the PRP prepared by the technology, the platelet concentration is 886.33*10<9> / L, the mean corpuscular hemoglobin in the PRP is 27.72 g / L, and the clinical treatment requirements are met.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging using steady state free precession

A method for functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) uses steady-state free precession (SSFP) to image changes in blood oxygenation between two time periods. A center frequency of the SSFP sequence is placed between the different resonant frequencies for oxyhemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin whereby the signals have a phase difference of 180° and tend to cancel. By repeating the SSFP imaging sequence at different times, the difference in the measured signals provides a measure of change in oxyhemoglobin. RF flip angle of the SSFP sequence is chosen to maximize signal level in the frequency range from that of water in the presence of oxyhemoglobin and that of water in the presence of deoxyhemoglobin.
