Phase alignment mechanism for minimizing the impact of integer-channel interference in a phase locked loop

A novel and useful apparatus for and method of minimizing the impact of interference on the phase error performance in a phase locked loop (PLL) at integer channels by adjustment of the phase of the interfering signal such that its impact on the reference signal is minimized. Phase control is achieved by use of the digital architecture of the ADPLL and its insensitivity to an arbitrary phase bias introduced between its digitally represented output and reference phase signals. The optimal phase relationship for each integer channel is determined through a calibration procedure in which the phase is swept and the optimal phase is recorded. Before the transmission of a payload on an integer channel, the phase relationship between the output RF signal and the input reference signal is adjusted to the value found to be optimal for that frequency, based on the values previously recorded during the calibration procedure.

Method, system and computer program product for real-time data integrity verification

The present invention is a method and system that provides visual, production level, high-performance, integrated and automatic data integrity verification in a Web-based, e-business or other similar application, using a middleware application server. Asynchronous messaging is utilized to achieve real-time data verification. When data is read and updated by the application running in the application server, a message containing certain aspects of the data is published to a data auditor “queue” in the message server. Publishing the data is an asynchronous and high-performance operation and thus does not significantly slow down the operation being performed by the application server. The message is delivered to the message server and control immediately returns to the application to continue processing. Concurrently, the auditor checks the values resulting from the transaction and determines if the transactions have been recorded accurately.

The routing system is enabled to track the operational status of each network processor device and operational status of destination ports supported by each network processor device in the system, and maintains the operational status as a data structure at each network processing device. Prior to routing packets, an expedient logical determination is made as to the operational status of a target network processing device and target interface port of a current packet to be routed as represented in the data structure maintained at the source NP device. If the target blade / interface is not operations, an alternative route may be provided by ECMP. In this manner, correct routing of packets is ensured with reduced occurrence of lost data packets due to failed target NP devices / ports.

Method and apparatus for reducing power consumption in GNSS receivers

Systems and methods are disclosed herein to use what is referred to as adaptive continuous tracking (ACT) to reduce the power consumption of GNSS receivers. In GNSS receivers, performance as measured by position accuracy is a function of the observation time of the satellites. A longer observation time translates into more reliable range measurements and demodulated data, and ultimately into better positioning accuracy of the receivers. However, a longer observation time also means more power consumption. ACT allows satellite observation time to be tuned to the desired positioning performance by dynamically adjusting the on time period of the receivers while maintaining a minimum performance metric. The performance metric may be formed from a combination of the estimated position error, the horizontal dilution of precision (HDOP), the data collection state, and the receiver operating environment as characterized by the carrier to noise ratio (CN0). ACT cyclically switches on / off the radio frequency (RF) front-end and also cyclically enables / disables the baseband hardware of the receivers to reduce power consumption while allowing the receivers to meet the minimum performance metric and ensuring continuous satellite tracking, continuous positioning fix operation, multiplexed GNSS operation, and continuous data collection.

Identifying Deterministic Performance Boost Capability of a Computer System

A benchmark tester retrieves a voltage margin that corresponds to a device that a system includes. The voltage margin indicates an additional amount of voltage to apply to a nominal voltage that, when added, results in the device operating at a power limit while executing a worst-case power workload. Next, the benchmark tester (or thermal power management device) sets an input voltage for the device to a value equal to the sum of the voltage margin and the nominal voltage. The benchmark tester then dynamically benchmark tests the system, which includes adjusting the device's frequency and input voltage while ensuring that the device does not exceed the device's power limit. In turn, the benchmark tester records a guaranteed minimum performance boost for the system based upon a result of the benchmark testing.
