A process control system simulation technique performs real-time simulation of an actual process control network as that network is running within a process plant in a manner that is synchronized with the operation of the actual process control network. This real-time, synchronized simulation system includes a simulation process control network and a process model which are automatically updated periodically during the operation of the actual process control network to reflect changes made to the process control network, as well as to account for changes in the plant itself, i.e., changes which require an updated process model. The disclosed simulation system provides for more readily accessible and usable simulation activities, as the process control network and the process models used within the simulation system are synchronized with and up-to-date with respect to the current process operating conditions. Moreover, this simulation system is more accurate as it uses process models developed from the current state of the process whenever the simulation system beings to perform a simulation. Method of setting-up steady state model of VSC-based multi-terminal HVDC transmission system

The power flow model of the multiterminal voltage-source converter-based high voltage DC (M-VSC-HVDC) transmission system for large-scale power systems is studied. The mathematical model is derived using the d-q axis decomposition of HVDC's control parameter. The developed model can be applied to all existing shunt voltage-source converter (VSC) based controllers, including Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), point-to-point HVDC system, back-to-back HVDC system and multiterminal HVDC system. A unified procedure is developed for incorporating the proposed model into the conventional Newton-Raphson power flow solver. The IEEE 300-bus test system embedded with multiple HVDC transmission systems under different configurations are investigated. Simulation results reveal that the proposed model is effective and accuracy in meeting various control objectives.

Method and apparatus for simulating a MMC system in an electronic simulator uses a computing unit and a connected input / output interface. The electronic simulator comprises a simulation model of a modular multilevel converter (MMC) system including at least one MMC valve, each MMC valve including a plurality of connected converter-submodules (SMs), each SM preferably comprising at least two controlled switches, a capacitor and auxiliary switches. The inventive approach replaces each MMC valve by an equivalent circuit whereby each SM in the valves may be solved separately. Multiple computing units are used to simulate those SMs in parallel, thus achieving fast or real-time simulation speed. The computing unit may comprise multiple computing means using CPU cores, FPGA or GPU cores and combinations thereof. The present inventive method keeps the model-detail including its precision, and enables a real time simulator to achieve fast or real-time speed for very large MMC system-simulations.

A lidar three-dimensional imaging system based on a virtual instrument comprises a three-dimensional scene modeling module, a lidar testing system simulation environment modeling module, a full-waveform signal processing module and a three-dimensional reconstruction module. The three-dimensional scene modeling module comprises a three-dimensional model loading element used for setting background colors, visual angle control, illumination, a projection mode, a display model and other basic scene projects.
