3763 results about "Physical model" patented technology

Physical model (most commonly referred to simply as a model but in this context distinguished from a conceptual model) is a smaller or larger physical copy of an object. The object being modelled may be small (for example, an atom) or large (for example, the Solar System).

Orthodontic bracket and method of attaching orthodontic brackets to teeth

ActiveUS20070087302A1Minimal size profileEnhance patient comfortAdditive manufacturing apparatusBracketsIndirect MethodPhysical model
An orthodontic bracket having an opening for receiving a wire, but without a base to create a lever arm when the bracket is oriented in free space at a customized angle relative to a tooth surface. The bracket can be embedded into or encapsulated by an adhesive that is bonded to the tooth. A clip is provided for holding the bracket in position and occluding the opening while the adhesive is applied. And indirect methods of attaching the brackets to teeth are provided wherein the brackets can be attached to the lingual side of the teeth in a low-profile arrangement. A first method includes the step of positioning the brackets on a physical model of the teeth by using a positioning machine. A second method includes the step of positioning virtual brackets on a virtual model of the teeth using software, then generating a physical transfer try using rapid prototyping.

Terminal try-on simulation system and operating and applying method thereof

The present invention relates to the provision of a terminal try-on simulation system and the method thereof, which is used to establish a physical body modeling information and an article modeling information and respectively produce a 3D physical model and a 3D article model. The article modeling information is related with the wearable article. By integrating the 3D physical model and 3D article model, a stereoscopic image of the 3D try-on model can be produced and shown on the display. According to the said the stereoscopic image on the display, the user can judge if the wearable article fit well and assess the actual wearing style; and by virtue of the arrangement and combination of different 3D article models, different effects of the stereoscopic image can be produced.

Method for activation of the regeneration of a particulate filter based on an estimate of the quantity of particulate accumulated in the particulate filter

Method for activation of the regeneration of a particulate filter for a motor vehicle engine, comprising the steps of calculating an estimated value (xM) of a quantity of particulate accumulated in the particulate filter; comparing (8) the estimated value (xM) with a threshold value (mTH) corresponding to a predetermined maximum quantity of particulate; and activating the regeneration (9) if the estimated value (xM) exceeds the threshold value (mTH). The step of calculating an estimated value (xM) comprises the steps of estimating a first quantity of particulate (xMS) accumulated in the particulate filter by means of a statistical model (3) based on experimental data; estimating a second quantity of particulate (xMF) accumulated in the particulate filter by means of a physical model (2) using physical quantities measured; determining a field of admissibility on the basis of the first quantity of particulate (xMS); comparing the estimated value (xM) with the second quantity of particulate (xMF) if the second quantity of particulate (xMF) is within the field of admissibility; and limiting the estimated value (xM) if the second quantity of particulate (xMF) is outside the field of admissibility.

Determining Fluid Rate and Phase Information for a Hydrocarbon Well Using Predictive Models

Physical models of wells are used to determine rate and phase composition for fluid produced from or injected into the wells on a near real time and continuous basis. The method can be used to alert operators or others of conditions in a well or field to permit more immediate response. The method can be more tolerant of sensor faults, sensor drift, anomalous data or other occurrences which could otherwise lead to incorrect output. More than one model can be used to permit a hierarchy of calculation such that the rate and phase determination is more tolerant of anomalous data. The calculated rate and phase values from one or more wells can be reconciled against facility data.
