A system and method for providing malware protection on client mobile platforms in a mobile network. The system and method manages the malware scanning agents of the client mobile platforms from a management server using a device independent secure management protocol. The management server downloads new malware definitions to client mobile platforms and remotely initiates malware scanning on the client mobile platforms.

Malware Detection System And Method for Compressed Data on Mobile Platforms

A system and method for detecting malware in compressed data. The system and method identifies a set of search strings extracted from compressed executables, each of which is infected with malware from a family of malware. The search strings detect the presence of the family of malware in other compressed executables, fragments of compressed executables, or data streams.

Plasma processing apparatus, method for detecting abnormality of plasma processing apparatus and plasma processing method

The plasma processing apparatus relating to the present invention is provided with a process chamber, a pressure measuring unit for measuring the pressure inside of the process chamber and a pump for exhausting a gas in the process chamber. A pressure control valve for maintaining the pressure inside of the process chamber to a predetermined pressure by regulating an opening based on a measured value of the pressure measuring unit is provided between the pump and the process chamber. An exhaust capacity controller sets up the exhaust capacity in a state that the variation of the opening of the pressure control valve in response to the pressure fluctuation inside of the process chamber is large. A computing unit detects very small pressure fluctuation based on the variation of the opening of the pressure control valve. In results, enabling reliable detection of a very small gas flow fluctuation and pressure fluctuation by a less expensive method independent of process conditions.

Bed exit and patient detection system

A bed exit and patient detection system especially adapted for use in the general medical or surgical floor area of a hospital or other healthcare facility as part of a vital signs monitoring and remote warning system includes a plurality of pressure sensors disposed in the patient's bed in a series of rectangular strips or zones that run laterally across the bed in the area of the patient's mid-back, hips and mid-legs, respectively. Each zone contains a plurality of sensors, arranged symmetrically about the centerline of the bed, with the corresponding sensors on opposite sides of the centerline in each zone being connected in parallel. The sensors are connected to a processor with multiple input channels that continuously monitors the sensor states to determine, from the pattern of sensor states observed, whether the patient is in bed, out of bed or is actively attempting to ext the bed at the sides or foot of the bed. At least three different sets of bed exit logic rules are available for user selection to configure the system for high, medium or low sensitivity, or bed exit privileges, for any particular patient. In some embodiments, the system also is capable of detecting when a patient is attempting to assume certain prohibited in-bed positions, such as sitting positions or slumping positions. An alarm in the form of a pre-recorded voice announcement or an alarm over a pre-existing nurse call system is provided when the sensor states are indicative of an out-of-bed or an exiting bed condition, or other prohibited in-bed positions, for a predetermined minimum period of time.

Method and apparatus for audio interference estimation

An apparatus comprises a receiver (203) which receives a microphone signal from a microphone (201) where the microphone signal comprises a test signal component corresponding to an audio test signal. A divider (215) divides the microphone signal into a plurality of test interval signal components, each of which corresponds to the microphone signal in a time interval. A set processor (217) generates sets of test interval signal components and a similarity processor (219) generates a similarity value for each set. An interference estimator (221) determines an interference measure for individual test interval signal components in response to the similarity values. The interference measure may be used to select signal segments that can be used to adapt an audio processing algorithm which is applied to the microphone signal, such as e.g. speech enhancement or echo cancellation. The approach may allow for a reliable interference estimate to be generated while maintaining low complexity.

Strategies for high throughput identification and detection of polymorphisms

The invention relates to a method for the high throughput identification of single nucleotide polymorphisms by performing a complexity reduction on two or more samples to yield two or more libraries, sequencing at least part of the libraries, aligning the identified sequences and determining any putative single nucleotide polymorphisms, confirming any putative single nucleotide polymorphism, generating detection probes for the confirmed single nucleotide polymorphisms, subjection a test sample to the same complexity reduction to provide a test library and screen the test library for the presence or absence of the single nucleotide polymorphisms using the detection probe.

Method and System for Video-Based Positioning and Mapping

A method and system for determining a geographical location and orientation of a vehicle (200, 300) travelling through a road network is disclosed. The method comprises obtaining, from one or more cameras (202, 302) associated with the vehicle (200, 300) travelling through the road network, a sequence of images (500) reflecting the environment of the road network on which the vehicle (200, 300) is travelling, wherein each of the images has an associated camera location at which the image was recorded. A local map representation representing an area of the road network on which the vehicle (200, 300) is travelling is then generated using at least some of the obtained images and the associated camera locations. The generated local map representation is compared with a section of a reference map, the reference map section covering the area of the road network on which the vehicle (200, 300) is travelling, and the geographical location and orientation of the vehicle (200, 300) within the road network is determined based on the comparison. Methods and systems for generating and / or updating an electronic map using data obtained by a vehicle (200, 300) travelling through a road network represented by the map are also disclosed.

Detecting coagulum formation

Techniques for detecting coagulum formation on an ablation electrode make use of an ablation electrode that is connected to a radio-frequency (RF) generator capable of applying a small amount of RF energy that is not cell destructive. The temperature at the ablation electrode can be precisely measured using a thermosensor incorporated within the ablation electrode. Before and after actual ablation, a low, non-cell destructing (non-ablating) amount of RF energy is generated at the ablation electrode. If no coagulum has formed during actual ablation, the temperature increase during this test application will be similar before and after the ablation attempt. If coagulum has formed during the actual ablation, however, the temperature increase during the test application after ablation will be significantly higher.
