1561 results about "Continuous data" patented technology

Definition of Continuous Data. Continuous data is described as an unbroken set of observations; that can be measured on a scale. It can take any numeric value, within a finite or infinite range of possible value. Statistically, range refers to the difference between highest and lowest observation.

System and method for incremental and continuous data compression

A data compression system and method for that is capable of detecting and eliminating repeated phrases of variable length within a window of virtually unlimited size.

Systems and methods for identifying gaze tracking scene reference locations

A system is provided for identifying reference locations within the environment of a device wearer. The system includes a scene camera mounted on eyewear or headwear coupled to a processing unit. The system may recognize objects with known geometries that occur naturally within the wearer's environment or objects that have been intentionally placed at known locations within the wearer's environment. One or more light sources may be mounted on the headwear that illuminate reflective surfaces at selected times and wavelengths to help identify scene reference locations and glints projected from known locations onto the surface of the eye. The processing unit may control light sources to adjust illumination levels in order to help identify reference locations within the environment and corresponding glints on the surface of the eye. Objects may be identified substantially continuously within video images from scene cameras to provide a continuous data stream of reference locations.

Learning-based method for estimating cost and statistics of complex operators in continuous queries

A learning-based method for estimating costs or statistics of an operator in a continuous query includes a cost estimation model learning procedure and a model applying procedure. The model learning procedure builds a cost estimation model from training data, and the applying procedure uses the model to estimate the cost associated with a given query. The learning procedure uses a feature extractor and a cost estimator. The feature extractor collects relevant training data and obtains feature values. The extracted feature values are associated with costs and used to create the cost estimator. When applying the cost estimator to a continuous stream of data, the feature extractor extracts feature values from the data stream and uses the extracted feature values as inputs into the cost estimator to obtain the desired cost values.

Recording medium, recording device, reproduction device, recording method and reproduction method

In order to enhance the usability of a write-once recording medium, the recording medium is provided with an ordinary recording/reproduction area, an alternate area, a first alternate-address management information area and a second alternate-address management information area. In addition, written/unwritten state indication information is recorded in a predetermined area. The second alternate-address management information area is an area allowing alternate-address management information recorded therein to be renewed by adding alternate-address management information to the area. Alternate-address management information recorded in the second alternate-address management information area includes information recorded in a first information format and information recorded in a second information format. The first information format shows an alternate source address and an alternate destination address for each data unit. On the other hand, the second information format shows an alternate source address and an alternate destination address for a group of a plurality of physically continuous data units. The second information format is used as a format for effectively carrying out an alternate-address process on such a group of data units. All alternate-address management information is recorded in the first alternate-address management information area in the first information format.
