An active vibration isolating support device for preventing the direct transmission of vibrations from an engine to a vehicle body frame includes an electromagnetic actuator for driving a movable member in a reciprocating fashion to change the capacity of a first liquid chamber. The invention provides an active damping system which comprises a pedestal, a main substrate, damping units and a control system and which is characterized in that: the number of the damping units is at least three; the damping units are arranged at the same included angle around a center and uniformly distributed on the same circumference; the bottom ends of the damping units are positioned on the pedestal and the top ends of the damping units are positioned on the main substrate; the control system is connected with the damping units to receive vibration signals from the damping units and feedback a control signal. According to the path planning of the moving parts such as the mask table and the working table on the main substrate, the preview control module generates the position information of each moving part within a future time period; integrates the current position information and the position information within the future time period of each moving parts; calculates a preview compensation control signal by means of the preview control algorithm; superposes the preview compensation control signal to the damping feedback control signal; and actuates the active damping system. The active damping system has the advantages of small power, low energy consumption and high damping accuracy.

Adjustable leveling mount

A leveling mount is disclosed for equipment in temporary or permanent installations wherein the supporting surface can be a non-level planar surface. A ball and socket support stud provides a self-leveling adjustment of support. An elastomeric removable mount base pad provides non-skid means. Swivel and radial movement of the ball and socket support stud are maintained to about 15° from the vertical and 360° rotary movement of the leveling mount base. The leveling mount base can engage a threaded support stud affixed to the supported equipment. A suitable number of lag holes with knock-out covers over said lag holes are provided. The lag holes are in perpendicular alignment with parallel top and bottom configured surfaces of the leveling mount base to permit secure attachment of the leveling mount base to support surfaces to reduce to a minimum the presence of open holes, crevices, recesses and cavities in the juncture of the leveling device with the support surface. Additionally, the surface design of the leveling device base element is configured to present a clean unencumbered surface for cleaning procedures after the leveling device is secured in place by employment of securing elements including bolts, screws and washers.

Remotely releasable support strut

Methods and apparatus are provided for locking and releasing ends of a support strut coupled between a mounting platform and a load. In a preferred embodiment, the strut comprises a damping section coupled between the ends and having a gap therein when the strut is unlocked, a locking section coupled between the ends for closing the gap by applying stress to a portion of the damper section through a force transmitting member, and a releasing section coupled in parallel with part of the force transmitting member, the releasing section including a Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) and heater therefore. Heating the SMA relieves the stress and opens the gap. Release from the locked condition occurs gradually and without fracture or sudden shock and the heater can be actuated remotely. In a preferred embodiment, a worm drive turnbuckle arrangement is used to apply force to lock the strut.

Provided is a vibration damping material comprising: a polyester resin containing dicarboxylic acid constitutional units and diol constitutional units; and mica being dispersed in the polyester resin, wherein: (1) a ratio [(A1+B1) / (A0+B0)] of a total of (A1) a number of the dicarboxylic acid constitutional units having an odd number of carbon atoms in a polyester main chain and (B1) a number of the diol constitutional units having an odd number of carbon atoms in the polyester main chain with respect to a total of (A0) a number of total dicarboxylic acid constitutional units and (B0) a number of total diol constitutional units in the polyester resin is in the range of 0.5 to 1; and (2) an average particle diameter calculated from a volume-based particle diameter frequency distribution of the mica in the vibration damping material is 25 to 500 μm. The damping material has a high versatility, is lightweight, shows an excellent vibration damping property and can be produced easily with a batch mixer.

Active seat suspension for watercraft

A watercraft seat suspension includes a damper mounted between a watercraft seat and the watercraft hull. The damper includes an electrically actuated mechanism controlling fluid flow from a first chamber to a second chamber within the damper. A sensor senses motion of the seat relative to the hull. A control unit interpolates the sensor signal and develops an actuating signal controlling the electrically actuated mechanism. In one arrangement, the electrically actuated mechanism is a solenoid actuated by the actuating signal to effect one of two different damping modes. In another arrangement, the electrically actuated mechanism includes a conductor coil and flux ring generating a magnetic field proportional to the actuating signal to vary the viscosity of magneto-rheological fluid in the damper.
