Alkaline cell with flat housing and nickel oxyhydroxide cathode

An alkaline cell having a flat casing, preferably of cuboid shape. The cell can have an anode comprising zinc and a cathode comprising nickel oxyhydroxide. The casing can have a relatively small overall thickness, typically between about 5 and 10 mm, but may be larger. Cell contents can be supplied through an open end in the casing and an end cap assembly inserted therein to seal the cell. The end cap assembly includes a vent mechanism, preferably a grooved vent, which can activate, when gas pressure within the cell reaches a threshold level typically between about 250 and 800 psig (1724×103 and 5515×103 pascal gage). The cell can have a supplemental vent mechanism such as a laser welded region on the surface of the casing which may activate at higher pressure levels.

Pro108 antibody compositions and methods of use and use of Pro108 to assess cancer risk

This invention relates to a method for assessing risk of prostate cancer. Specifically, it relates to utilizing both Pro108 and Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) in combination to determine the risk of prostate cancer. In addition, it is directed to a method for assessing risk of ovarian, colon, breast or stomach cancer utilizing Pro108 or specific antibodies to Pro108. The invention provides isolated anti-prostate, ovarian, colon, breast or stomach cancer antigen (Pro108) antibodies that bind to Pro108 on a mammalian cell in vivo. The invention also encompasses compositions comprising an anti-Pro108 antibody and a carrier. These compositions can be provided in an article of manufacture or a kit. Another aspect of the invention is an isolated nucleic acid encoding an anti-Pro108 antibody, as well as an expression vector comprising the isolated nucleic acid. Also provided are cells that produce the anti-Pro108 antibodies. The invention encompasses a method of producing the anti-Pro108 antibodies. Other aspects of the invention are a method of killing an Pro108-expressing cancer cell, comprising contacting Pro108 present in the ECM with an anti-Pro108 antibody and a method of alleviating or treating an Pro108-expressing cancer in a mammal, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of the anti-Pro108 antibody to the mammal.

Full-duplex active phased filter antenna array surface

The invention discloses a full-duplex active phased filter antenna array surface, and aims at providing an antenna array surface with high-isolation array transmitting and receiving and good filter characteristic. A transmitting antenna array surface of a transmitting array antenna and a receiving antenna array surface of a receiving array antenna consist of a plurality of arrayed radiation units;a multi-layer printed board integrally integrating a radiation circuit, a feed switching circuit and a filter circuit achieves connection between different circuits by vertical interconnection structures of metallized via holes; a metal upper cavity body of a transmitting-receiving component serves as a metal ground; a metal upper cavity body base of a metal floor is consubstantially connected byradio-frequency fuzz button connectors; and then a radiation unit and transmitting-receiving component integrated box-type submatrix module filter antenna unit is formed. With the adoption of the full-duplex active phased filter antenna array surface, high-isolation array transmitting and receiving can be achieved; insertion losses of array transmitting and receiving can be reduced; and high-precision amplitude and phase control can be achieved.

Multi-level embedded integrated navigation system and navigation method

The invention discloses a multi-level embedded integrated navigation system and a navigation method, belonging to the technical field of integrated navigation. The method comprises the following steps: firstly establishing an aviation airborne inertial navigation system (INS) error state value equation and an inertia/satellite integrated measurement model, then defining a navigation error state value of an embedded inertia/satellite integrated system and establishing an inertia/star sensor integrated measurement model; on that basis, carrying out embedded inertia/satellite integrated system internal integrated navigation resolving and close-loop filtering correction, and finally carrying out external inertia/star sensor integrated navigation resolving and open-loop filtering correction to obtain multi-information fusion navigation results. According to the invention, the complete independent integrated structure of the embedded inertia/satellite integrated system can be kept, and simultaneously the multi-level fusion of inertia/satellite/astronomy asynchronous multi-sensor information and the step-by-step correction of the inertial navigation system are realized, the integrated navigation performance is effectively raised, and the invention is suitable for engineering application.

Substrates with small particle size metal oxide and noble metal catalyst coatings and thermal spraying methods for producing the same

A substrate having a catalytic surface thereon characterized as a coating of metal oxide and noble metal particles in the nominal diameter size distribution range of <3 microns, and more particularly <1 micron, is produced by thermal spraying a mixture of large size particles (e.g., in a nominal size distribution range of >10 micrometers) of hydroxides, carbonates or nitrates of the metals: cerium, aluminum, tin, manganese, copper, cobalt, nickel, praseodymium or terbium particles; and hydroxides, carbonates or nitrates of the noble metals: ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, silver, iridium, platinum and gold onto the substrate. The coating adheres to the surface and provides desirable catalyst properties.

Intrinsic channel FET

ActiveUS20130069164A1Reduces Random Dopant Fluctuation phenomenonReduce variation of threshold voltageTransistorSolid-state devicesCMOSPolycrystalline silicon
A novel semiconductor transistor is presented. The semiconductor structure has a MOSFET like structure, with the difference that the device channel is formed in an intrinsic region, so as to effectively decrease the impurity and surface scattering phenomena deriving from a high doping profile typical of conventional MOS devices. Due to the presence of the un-doped channel region, the proposed structure greatly reduces Random Doping Fluctuation (RDF) phenomena decreasing the threshold voltage variation between different devices. In order to control the threshold voltage of the device, a heavily doped poly-silicon or metallic gate is used. However, differently from standard CMOS devices, a high work-function metallic material, or a heavily p-doped poly-silicon layer, is used for a n-channel device and a low work-function metallic material, or heavily n-doped poly-silicon layer, is used for a p-channel FET.

High profile electrical connector

An electrical connector (1) includes a dielectric housing (12), a terminal subassembly (90), an inner shield (60) and an outer shield (70). The dielectric housing (12) includes a supporting portion (120) and a mating portion (138) defining a receiving space (124) above the supporting portion. The terminal subassembly includes first and second terminal modules (40, 80). The first and the second terminal modules respectively include first and second dielectric bodies (14, 16) retained in the receiving space and a number of first and second terminals (20, 30) received in the first and the second dielectric bodies. The first and the second dielectric bodies extend beyond the mating portion (138). The inner shield encloses the first and the second dielectric bodies and defines a first engaging space (2). The outer shield encircles the inner shield. The outer shield and the inner shield define a second engaging space (3) therebetween.

Mine protection vehicle system

A mine protection vehicle system is proposed wherein a military wheeled vehicle is provided with a high degree of mine protection. Preferably, the vehicle has a three-sectioned vehicle construction that includes a front building block, a main building block and rear building block. The building blocks are separable from one another. The main building block may be designed to be slanted toward the bottom and double walled. A cabin, serving to provide a crew space, is hung up on a support structure of the main building block. Wheel axles and drives are built into the front and / or rear building block; however, no wheel axle is disposed below the main building block.
