High compression gas turbine with superheat enhancement

A system and method for adding superheat to the hot process gas at the discharge of a compressor drive turbine of a high compression ratio gas turbine or aviation gas turbine. The superheat brings the temperature ratio (T2 / T1) of the power output turbine into equality with the pressure ratio (P2 / P1)(K−1) / K to effect a highly efficient and adiabatic isentropic expansion across the power output turbine. The added superheat contributes to the output power of the engine less any inefficiency of the output power turbine. All of the variables are brought together to develop the proper superheat levels for obtaining the greatest power output possible at minimum fuel consumption levels.

Methods, systems and device are provided for improving the range and accuracy of proximity measurement such as in ultrasonic sensing systems. In particular, the blind zone caused by reverberation signals can be reduced or eliminated by attenuating signals received during the time period corresponding to the blind zone without. In an implementation, an attenuator circuit is selected by a switch to process received signals during the blind zone time period and deselected by the switch after the time zone time period. Additionally, the accuracy and range of the measurement can be improved by varying the gain provided to the received signals based on the varying measuring distance. In an implementation, a gain-adjustable amplifier is controlled by a gain control signal to provide incremental gain as time increases.

There is provided a semiconductor laser element, which has a small capacitance outside a ridge portion and high response speed and is able to effect pulse oscillation with a satisfactory pulse waveform. On a GaAs substrate 101, there are provided an n-type buffer layer 102, an n-type first clad layer 103, an MQW active layer 104, a p-type second clad layer 105, a p-type etching stop layer 106 that has an energy bandgap smaller than that of this second clad layer 105, a p-type third clad layer 107 that constitutes a ridge portion and a p-type protective layer 108. On both sides in the widthwise direction of the ridge portion are laminated a p-type spacer layer 109, an n-type current light confining layer 110, an n-type current confining layer 111 and a p-type flattening layer 112. On these layers is laminated a p-type contact layer 113. A depletion layer spreads into the spacer layer 109 when a bias voltage is applied. Therefore, a capacitance between the spacer layer 109 and the current light confining layer 110 is reduced, and a response speed during the pulse oscillation of the semiconductor laser element becomes fast.

Scintillating Crystal Detector

A detector using scintillating crystals is provided. The scintillating crystal is based on cerium doped lutetium yttrium orthosilicate (Ce:LYSO). Method for preparing graphene nano-composite energetic material through atomic-layer deposition technology

The invention discloses a method for preparing a graphene nano-composite energetic material through an atomic-layer deposition technology. The method includes the steps that graphene loaded nanometer metal compound powder is prepared through an ultrasonic-assisted solution mixing and in-situ reduction method, so that even scattering of nanometer metal on the surface of graphene is achieved; and then, the gas-phase atomic-layer deposition technology is adopted, two different precursors pass through a reaction cavity alternately, the precursors make contact with the surface of the graphene/nanometer metal compound powder fully, a chemical reaction is set off, and oxides are generated. By means of the method, the oxides wrap the graphene surface and the nanometer metal surface evenly. According to the graphene nano-composite energetic material prepared through the method, the affinity between the oxides and the nanometer metal surface is increased, and spatial arrangement is improved. Due to the addition of the graphene, the scattering situation of the nanometer metal is improved, and the energy release rate of the energetic material is increased. The method is high in automation degree and good in safety, the material can be directly used without after-treatment, and mass production of the graphene nano-composite energetic material is achieved easily.

The invention discloses a benzoate-based burning rate catalyst containing a dinuclear ferrocene group and a preparation method of the benzoate-based burning rate catalyst. A structural formula of theburning rate catalyst is as shown in the specification. The burning rate catalyst provided by the invention is unlikely to migrate or volatilize under natural conditions, is good in thermal stability,and has relatively high formation heat and combustion heat due to the introduction of a nitrogen-rich group; the energy level of a solid propellant is increased when the burning rate catalyst is usedin the solid propellant during combustion; and the burning rate catalyst has a relatively good combustion catalysis effect on main components of the solid propellant, namely ammonium perchlorate andcyclonite. The burning rate catalyst provided by the invention has the advantages that the preparation method is simple to operate, the synthesis cost is low, and the defects of complicated synthesisprocess, high price, high cost and the like of the existing ferrocene and derivatives thereof are overcome.
