Polyacrylic acid (PAA) is adopted to functionalize the surfaces of the nanoparticles, so that the upconversion nanoparticles have good dispersing capacity in an aqueous solution, and directional recognition of copper ions in an aqueous phase system is realized. The up-conversion luminescence intensity obtained by adopting 980nm or 808nm excitation has a good linear relationship with the copper ion concentration. The nanoparticle has the characteristics of good selectivity, low luminescence detection limit and wide linear range. Ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) is added, so that the luminescence of the up-conversion nanoparticles is recovered, and the up-conversion nanoparticles can be recycled.
