43 results about "Streaming current" patented technology

A streaming current and streaming potential are two interrelated electrokinetic phenomena studied in the areas of surface chemistry and electrochemistry. They are an electric current or potential which originates when an electrolyte is driven by a pressure gradient through a channel or porous plug with charged walls.

Semiconductor device

A semiconductor device comprises a plurality of memory cells, a central processing unit, a timer circuit which times a RESET time, and a timer circuit which times a SET time. A threshold voltage of an NMOS transistor of each memory cell is lower than that of the peripheral circuit, thereby easily executing a RESET operation. The direction of a flowing current is changed across the RESET operation and the SET operation, and the bit lines are activated at high speed, thus preventing system malfunctions. Further, the semiconductor device can overcome such problems as a wrong write operation and data destruction, resulting from the variation in the CMOS transistors when operating phase change elements with minimum size CMOS transistors at a core voltage (e.g. 1.2 V). According to the present invention, stable operations can be realized at a low voltage, using minimum-size cell transistors.

Electrolysis cell for generating chlorine dioxide

A method for making chlorine dioxide, by passing an aqueous feed solution comprising sodium chlorite into a non-membrane electrolysis cell comprising an anode and a cathode, adjacent to the anode, while flowing electrical current between the anode and the cathode to electrolyze the aqueous feed solution and convert the halogen dioxide salt to halogen dioxide. The anode is preferably a porous anode through which the aqueous feed solution passes to maximize the conversion of chlorite to chlorine dioxide.

Continuous multiple arc type wave-absorbing bank

The invention relates to a continuous multiple arc type wave-absorbing bank. The continuous multiple arc type wave-absorbing bank comprises a main body and a slope protector, wherein the upstream surface of the main body is provided with an inclined slope, and the slope protector comprises a circular-arc protecting surface and a horizontal connecting section. Combining with the mechanical properties of a stream current, the continuous multiple arc type wave-absorbing bank adopts a continuous multiple arc type embankment structure with the inclined slope, and the protecting surface of the wave-absorbing bank consists of a plurality of continuous circular arcs and the horizontal connecting section. The horizontal connecting section enables the stream current to be capable of smoothly entering the circular arcs. The stream current interacts with circular arc surfaces to reduce part of wave energy, thereby realizing wave absorption for the first time. The circular arc surfaces enable the stream current to change a flow direction, and prevent the stream current from longitudinally running-up along a dam; the stream current changing the direction due to the action of the circular arcs is ejected along tangent lines at the tail parts of the circular arcs to smack upwelling waves; and most of the wave energy is eliminated by utilizing the impact of the stream current to decrease the high running-up of the waves, thereby realizing the wave absorption for the second time. The plurality of circular arcs are arranged, so that the gradual wave absorption can be realized. By virtue of a model experiment, the wave-absorbing rate can be up to 69%-82%, and the wave-absorbing effect is obvious.

The invention discloses a liquid magnetizer with a variant Halbach permanent magnet array. The liquid magnetizer with the variant Halbach permanent magnet array structurally comprises a shell, a permanent magnet device, a liquid conveying pipe and a liquid distributor, wherein the permanent magnet device consists of 3-9 groups of annular permanent magnet arrays and jackets thereof; each group of annular permanent magnet arrays is formed by assigning 4n (n=1, 2, 3,...) trapezoidal or square (or square and triangular) permanent magnet components according to a Halbach array; radial magnetizing components between each two magnetic rings are mutually staggered and arranged spirally; the liquid conveying pipe is made of a nonferrous thin-wall material; the outer wall of the liquid conveying pipe is tightly stick to the permanent magnet device; the inner wall of the liquid conveying pipe and the liquid distributor form an annular passage; and the liquid distributor is of a hollow columnar structure, is internally filled with far-infrared activating balls, specially-made mineralizing balls and pure natural tourmalines, and is communicated with a stream current by virtue of permeable holes. The liquid magnetizer with the variant Halbach permanent magnet array has strong magnetism collecting capability and no magnetized dead angles, also has the effects of magnetization, activation, mineralization and weak alkalization, and can be widely applied to the treatment of water, beverages and other liquids.

Faster than real time streaming in a playlist context

A method for facilitating multimedia streaming using server-side playlists comprises a plurality of operations. An operation is performed for streaming current playlist selection data from a server that supports server-side playlists to a client having a jitter buffer. An operation is performed for receiving at the server a request for streaming multimedia content corresponding to a different playlist selection. An operation is performed for communicating client-server specification information between the server and the client for enabling the different playlist selection data to be streamed from the server to the client at a data transfer rate greater than a maximum data presentation rate. The operation for communicating client-server specification information includes transmitting from the server for reception by the client information acknowledging that the server supports faster than real-time streaming and receiving at the server information designating a current size of the jitter buffer and a maximum data rate at which data is receivable by the client. The server performs an operation for streaming the different playlist selection data from the server for reception by the client after the operation for communicating client-server specification information is performed. The different playlist selection data is streamed at a data transfer rate greater than the maximum data transfer rate at which data is outputable from the jitter buffer.
