Intensifier (abbreviated INT) is a linguistic term (but not a proper lexical category) for a modifier that makes no contribution to the propositional meaning of a clause but serves to enhance and give additional emotional context to the word it modifies. Intensifiers are grammatical expletives, specifically expletive attributives (or, equivalently, attributive expletives or attributive-only expletives; they also qualify as expressive attributives), because they function as semantically vacuous filler. Characteristically, English draws intensifiers from a class of words called degree modifiers, words that quantify the idea they modify. More specifically, they derive from a group of words called adverbs of degree, also known as degree adverbs. When used grammatically as intensifiers, these words cease to be degree adverbs, because they no longer quantify the idea they modify; instead, they emphasize it emotionally. By contrast, the words moderately, slightly, and barely are degree adverbs, but not intensifiers. The other hallmark of prototypical intensifiers is that they are adverbs which lack the primary characteristic of adverbs: the ability to modify verbs. Intensifiers modify exclusively adjectives and adverbs, but this rule is insufficient to classify intensifiers, since there exist other words commonly classified as adverbs that never modify verbs but are not intensifiers, e.g. questionably.

A hydraulic pressure compensation system for valve actuator assemblies is described having particular application for subsea wellhead installations. The compensation system includes at least one valve actuator assembly having a housing that retains a reciprocable piston therewithin. The piston is spring biased into its fail safe configuration. The valve actuator assembly is hydraulically associated with an accumulator reservoir that defines a closed fluid reservoir and an open fluid reservoir that is exposed to ambient pressures. The two chambers are separated by a membrane. The valve actuator assembly is also operationally associated with a fluid pressure intensifier that boosts the ambient pressure of the accumulator so that an increased fluid pressure may be transmitted to the actuator assembly to bias the actuated valve toward its fail safe configuration. In a described embodiment, the fluid pressure intensifier comprises a housing that defines a chamber having a fluid inlet and fluid outlet. A dual-headed piston is moveably retained within the housing. The piston has an enlarged piston face and a reduced size piston face. Fluid pressure entering the fluid inlet is exerted upon the enlarged piston face, and due to the difference of piston face sizes, an increased pressure is transmitted out of the fluid outlet.

A fuel injection valve co-injects a liquid and a gaseous fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. A solid needle regulates the injection of liquid and gaseous fuels from a cavity in the fuel injection valve into the combustion chamber when the needle is lifted to its open position. In preferred embodiments, liquid fuel is metered and pressurized in an intensifier's cylinder provided within the valve body and the liquid fuel is delivered through a restricted flow passage into the cavity where it mixes with the gaseous fuel. The restricted flow passage can be formed by a small passage formed in the valve body or an annular passage between the needle and the valve body.

The adaptive nonlinear compressed sensing mechanism provides a modified DMD sensing architecture incorporating a nonlinear optical intensifier coupled with a nonlinear acquisition process. The modified DMD sensing architecture and related circuitry and software are operative to perform nonlinear image acquisition by computing both linear and nonlinear functionals. These computations are performed recursively to approximate the image to achieve any desired target image quality.

Poly(nonamethyleneterephthalamide) material and preparation method thereof

The invention relates to a poly(nonamethyleneterephthalamide) material and a preparation method thereof. The composite material comprises the following components in part by weight: 30 to 50 parts of poly(nonamethyleneterephthalamide) (PA9T), 8 to 20 parts of polyamide (PA6, PA66), 10 to 15 parts of main flame retardant, 3 to 5 parts of auxiliary flame retardant, 30 to 45 parts of filler intensifier, 0.2 to 0.6 part of antioxidant, 0.2 to 0.8 part of lubricant and 0.3 to 0.6 part of nucleating agent. In the method, the polyamide is added into the material to improve the defect of poor flowability of the poly(nonamethyleneterephthalamide), so the manufacture temperature and difficulty can be greatly reduced; because of high price of the PA9T, nylon is introduced to greatly reduce the production cost, realize profit optimization; and by selecting different types of glass fibers as the filler intensifier, the comprehensive performance of the material is greatly improved. The PA9T intensified modified material has simple preparation process, low cost, high profit and excellent economical benefit.

An operator shielded X-ray imaging system has sufficiently low mass (less than 300 kg) and is compact enough to enable portability by reducing operator shielding requirements to a minimum shielded volume. The resultant shielded volume may require a relatively small mass of shielding in addition to the already integrally shielded X-ray source, intensifier, and detector. The system is suitable for portable imaging of well cores at remotely located well drilling sites. The system accommodates either small samples, or small cross-sectioned objects of unlimited length. By rotating samples relative to the imaging device, the information required for computer aided tomographic reconstruction may be obtained. By further translating the samples relative to the imaging system, fully three dimensional (3D) tomographic reconstructions may be obtained of samples having arbitrary length.

The invention discloses a method for producing an epoxy crosslinking modified paper humidity intensifier. The alkaline cured humidity intensifier polyamide polyamine epoxy chloropropane resin is the mainstream product at present, but the PAE which is not cross-linked and modified is poor in the crosslinking degree and molecular weight and has poor retaining performance, and the humidity-intensifying effect of the paper can not reach the production requirement, and can result in the increase of the adsorptive organic halide in the wastewater. The invention adopts the dibasic acid and polybasic amine as the raw material to produce the intermediate of polyamide polyamine; a certain amount of polyamide polyamine intermediate, epoxy and epoxy chloropropane react under certain temperature until the product reaches a certain viscosity, then acid is added to terminate the reaction and obtain the epoxy crosslinking modified paper humidity intensifier. The method can reduce the consumption of the epoxy chloropropane and decrease the content of organochlorine in the waste; the retaining rate of the product is greatly improved; the product provided by the invention can not only improve the wet strength of the paper but also can increase the physical properties of the paper, such as the folding strength, tensile strength and dry strength and the like.

In the invention, the aromatic hydrocarbon is used to form even mixture among the modifier, the resin and the pitch so that resin group and pitch group are bridged under the action of the modifier. When used on the road surface, the resin exerts the high bondability characteristic and the like. The modifier is used to improve the road performance, as improving softening point, low temperature ductility and the like. At the same time, the invention is good glue material.
