Fire-retardant polyurethane foam and preparation method thereof

The invention relates to fire-retardant polyurethane foam which is characterized by being prepared by foaming of a black material and a white material with a mass ratio of 1:1.2-1.4. The black material is isocyanate; the white material comprises the following components by weight: 5-15 parts of water glass; 40-55 parts of polyether polyol; 40-60 parts of polyester polyol; 0.1-0.5 parts of catalysts; 2-5 parts of foam stabilizers; 5-15 parts of halogen-free fire retardants; and 5-15 parts of graphite fire retardants. The invention also provides a preparation method of the fire-retardant polyurethane foam. According to the invention, water glass instead of chlorofluorocarbon foaming agents is added into existing polyurethane foam formulae, which effectively reduces environment pollution; the combined effect of water glass, halogen-free fire retardants, and graphite fire retardants improves the fire retardance of polyurethane, and the fire-retardant polyurethane foam is applicable to fields of building materials, furniture, insulation materials, automobile seat cushions and interior trims, and the like.

The process also avoids the use of hexafluoropropane (HFP) as a reactant for making HFC-227ea, and is able to convert any three-carbon hydrocarbon (HC), hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC), chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) compound or any halogenated propanes and produce high valued three-carbon hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) at significantly lower cost than current commercial processes.

Process for the removal of contaminant from a hydrochlorofluoroolefin by extractive distillation

A method for removing a contaminant from a hydrochlorofluoroolefin (such as trans-1,1,1-trifluoro-3-chloro-2-propene (1233zd(E))) includes extracting a chlorofluorocarbon (such as trichlorofluoromethane (R11)) from a mixture comprising the hydrochlorofluoroolefin and the chlorofluorocarbon using extractive distillation in the presence of an extractive solvent comprising a chlorinated compound to form a purified hydrochlorofluoroolefin. This separation method provides for removal of a contaminant, such as R11, from a hydrochlorofluoroolefin, such as 1232zd(E), which are not separable by conventional distillation methods. The method may employ a process utilizing two distillation columns, for example, a first extractive distillation column and a second solvent recovery column, which allows for recycle of the extractive solvent to the first extractive distillation column.

An environmentally-friendly all-water-blown rigid inorganic hybrid melamine polyurethane foam material with B1-grade flame retardation performance according to the present invention is prepared with high-temperature-resistant inorganic hybrid melamine resin polyol or an inorganic hybrid polyol etherified melamine resin, an emulgator, a composite catalyst, a phosphate flame retardant, and a foamer, water or water glass for example, as main raw materials, and by carrying out dispersion by stirring, separately preparing premixed polyether, and then subjecting the premixed polyether to foaming on a sheet making machine, a coating machine, and a casting machine with isocyanate (MDI). The rigid foaming material according to the present invention is free of lower-boiling-point hydrocarbon compound chlorofluorocarbon and hydrochloroflurocarbon compounds, undergoes foaming in virtue of water, and does not destroy the ozone layer nor produce the greenhouse effect, so that the material is environmentally friendly; the flame-retardant property is improved by at least 20%; the material has excellent flame-retardant property while guaranteeing physical properties and has an oxygen index of more than 30%.
