The invention relates to a steel-making
smelting technology, in particular to an
electric arc furnace and a preparation method thereof. The
electric arc furnace comprises a
hearth, a furnace cover, an
electrode, a tap hole and a furnace door, wherein the
electrode is inserted into the furnace through a hole in the furnace cover, the furnace cover covers the
hearth, the tap hole and the furnace door are formed on a covering place between the furnace cover and the
hearth, an
asbestos board is laid closely on the surface in a furnace body of the hearth,
alumina bricks are laid on the
asbestos board, magnesia is laid on the
alumina bricks, brine magnesia is scattered on the surface of the
alumina bricks so as to be
solid, and magnesia pipes and magnesia carbon bricks are laid on the alumina bricks until the furnace door is level to the tap hole. According to the
electric arc furnace, a water tank in the conventional
electric arc furnace is replaced, the weld failure of the water tank caused by
erosion of the water tank by the
molten steel or the excess temperature is avoided, so that the water and the
molten steel cannot be mixed to cause explosion of a
smelting furnace and potential safety
hazard so as to destroy the equipment and increase the production cost, and meanwhile, the influence on the quality of the produced products caused by the steel drop of the
molten steel due to the contact of the molten steel and the water is avoided.
