Lateral Steady Acceleration Simulation System for Railway Vehicle

To provide a lateral steady acceleration simulation system for railway vehicle, which is capable of simulating a situation in which lateral steady acceleration is applied to a railway vehicle for a long period of time, while having a compact structure. In a riding quality simulation system of the invention, a control unit activates each of actuators (40), thereby making a simulated passenger room (10) roll. Then, the simulated passenger room (10) is gradually inclined, while a component force, along an inclined plane, of gravitational acceleration g, that is, a first reproductive acceleration G1 is generated depending on an angle of inclination θ. In this manner, a person riding on the simulated passenger room (10) bodily senses the first reproductive acceleration G1 by the roll. At the same time, the control unit moves the simulated passenger room 10, by means of a laterally moving device, in either of the left or right direction with acceleration G. In this manner, the person riding on the simulated passenger room (10) bodily senses a second reproductive acceleration G2. As a result, the person riding on the simulated passenger room (10) bodily senses a combination of the first and second reproductive accelerations G1 and G2 as lateral steady acceleration on a railway.

Method and apparatus for extended operation of steam turbines in islanding mode

A steam turbine driven electric power plant with an electric generator is switchable into an islanding mode wherein a main steam turbine is shut down and a lower capacity industrial steam turbine runs the electric generator instead, to supply house power to the plant while decoupled from the power grid. This avoids operating the main steam turbine and / or its steam source at reduced ratings for which they are not optimized and keeps the plant ready for restarting. The main steam turbine, the electric machine and the industrial steam turbine are mechanically engaged or disengaged through an SSS clutch, torque converter and transmission. In another mode, the electric generator is decoupled mechanically and operated as a mechanically unloaded synchronous motor coupled to the power grid, namely as a synchronous condenser wherein phased over- or under-excitation of the motor field windings supplies reactive power to the grid.

An enhanced graph transformation-based point cloud attribute compression method

An enhanced graph transformation-based point cloud attribute compression method. For point cloud attribute information, a point cloud is first subjected to airspace division by using a K-dimension (KD) tree; a new graph transformation processing method in combination with spectral analysis is provided; the point cloud is then subjected to spectral clustering on graphs in coded blocks of the point cloud; expansion is performed on the basis of existing graph transformation to implement a local graph transformation scheme; enhanced graph transformation with two transformation modes is formed; the compression performance of graph transformation is improved. The method comprises: performing color space transformation of point cloud attributes; dividing the point cloud by using the KD tree to obtain the coded blocks; performing spectral clustering-based enhanced graph transformation; performing transformation mode decision; and performing uniform quantization and entropy coding. Provided is a new spectral analysis-based enhanced graph transformation scheme, wherein two transformation modes are comprised, and the optimal mode is selected by the mode decision; after the point cloud is divided with the tree, a graph is created in each coded block and the graph transformation is used as transformation mode I; on this basis, graph spectral clustering is implemented; the graph is divided into two local graphs and then local graph transformation is performed to serve as transformation mode II; in the enhanced graph transformation scheme supporting the two transformation modes, the optimal mode is selected by the mode decision to achieve the optimal performance of point cloud attribute compression.
