A catheter assembly for pressure-sensitive control of ablation treatment is disclosed. The assembly includes a conductive element, an electrode, and a pressure sensitive conductive composite member positioned between the conductive element and the electrode. At least one of the conductive pin, the pressure sensitive conductive composite element and the ablation electrode are moveable to create an engagement position and a non-engagement position. In the engagement position, the elements are electrically coupled such that ablation energy may be delivered from the conductive pin to the ablation electrode via the pressure sensitive conductive composite element. In the non-engagement position, the elements are electrically decoupled such that ablation energy is not delivered to the ablation electrode. A related method for pressure-sensitive control of ablation is also disclosed.

Such a contact system can be used, for example, to transfer power to an electromechanical device disposed thereon. In one particular example, the electromechanical device can include a power storage element and two or more couplings. When one of the couplings contacts a pad biased at the first voltage level, and another of the couplings contacts a pad biased at the second voltage level, a circuit is completed where some derivative of the differential between the first voltage level and the second voltage level is placed across the power storage element. Completion of the circuit causes the power storage element to charge. Power can be drawn from the power storage element to operate the electromechanical device.

A method for reducing wafer damage during an etching process is provided. In one of the many embodiments, the method includes assigning a bias voltage to each of at least one etching process, and generating the assigned bias voltage before initiation of one of the at least one etching process. The method further includes applying the assigned bias voltage to an electrostatic chuck before initiation of one of the at least one etching processes. The assigned bias voltage level reduces wafer arcing.

Methods and systems for obtaining improved computed tomographic reconstructions are provided. A camera obtains one or more images of a patient while a tomographic scan is performed. A CT scanner obtains one or more tomographic projections. The total number of the one or more tomographic projections obtained during the CT scan is determined. For each of the one or more patient images obtained, a processor correlates the patient image with the one or more tomographic projections, calculates a position of the patient and determines if the calculated position of the patient is greater than one or more predetermined constants. If it is determined that the calculated position of the patient is greater than one or more predetermined constants and a total number of the one or more tomographic projections obtained is less than a predetermined number, separate projections are substituted in the place of the one or more tomographic projections that were correlated to the patient image. If it is determined that the calculated position of the patient is greater than one or more predetermined constants and a total number of the one or more tomographic projections is greater than a predetermined number, the tomographic scan is aborted or the tomographic reconstruction is reconstructed on a reduced arc.

A variable impedance composition according to one aspect of the present invention comprises a high electro-magnetic permeability powder in an amount from 10% to 85% of the weight of the variable impedance composition, and an insulation adhesive in an amount from 10% to 30% of the weight of the variable impedance composition. The incorporation of high electro-magnetic permeability powder including carbonyl metal, such as carbonyl iron or carbonyl nickel, in the variable impedance composition can not only suppress the overstress voltage, but also dampen the transient current. In contrast to the conventional electrostatic discharge (ESD) device, the relatively high electro-magnetic permeability carbonyl metal powder can reduce arcing as well as lower the trigger voltage of the device. The high electro-magnetic permeability characteristics can also absorb the undesirable electro-magnetic radiation that causes corruption of signal and loss of data.
