Systems and methods for displaying changes in biological responses to therapy

Systems and methods of this invention display data using pixels with information indicated by color and intensity changes, particularly used for monitoring of physiological variables in real time. For certain methods, physiological data can be acquired by sensors, acquired data can be stored in data frames, data frames can be processed using computer-implemented methods, and processed data frames can be scaled to a display frame for display on a display device. Using such methods, a spot made up of a group of pixels can be updated during a time frame, or cycle using a computer-implemented method, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or a time dependent function. Newly received data can be combined with prior received data to indicate time-dependent changes. In this way, each spot contains a cumulative history of data starting at some initial time. In other embodiments, visual contrast can be enhanced between desired data and other data. In further embodiments, two or more different types of data can be plotted together to indicate relationships between variables. Real time monitoring of signals during therapeutic treatment using light, electricity or other nerve or muscle stimuli can allow a user to monitor physiological responses during stimulation and to make rapid decisions about medical treatment.

Methods for humanizing rabbit monoclonal antibodies

The invention provides a method for humanizing a rabbit monoclonal antibody. In general, the method involves comparing an amino acid sequences of a parent rabbit antibody to the amino acid sequences of a similar human antibody, and altering the amino acid sequence of the parent rabbit antibody such its framework regions are more similar in sequence to the equivalent framework regions of the similar human antibody. In many embodiments, amino acids in the parent rabbit antibody that are not CDR contact residues, interchain contact residues, or buried residues, are not modified. The invention further provides nucleic acids encoding the subject antibodies, as well as vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acids and methods for producing a subject antibody. The subject antibodies, nucleic acid compositions and kits find use in a variety of applications, including diagnostics and therapeutic treatment and research of conditions and diseases.

Guide tube

There is provided a flexible guide tube which guides an endoscope or a therapeutic device into an abdominal cavity through the mouth and stomach to conduct an observation or a therapeutic treatment in the abdominal cavity. The guide tube includes an insertion section which has a distal end, a peripheral section, and a central axis, and which is capable of being inserted into a body through the mouth, and two expandable and shrinkable balloons arranged in the vicinity of the distal end at a predetermined distance from each other in the axial direction on the periphery of the insertion section. The predetermined distance is preferably set to 3 to 8 mm, and the length of the insertion section is preferably set to about 600 to 1000 mm.

Visual imaging system for ultrasonic probe

A non-invasive visual imaging system is provided, wherein the imaging system procures an image of a transducer position during diagnostic or therapeutic treatment. In addition, the system suitably provides for the transducer to capture patient information, such as acoustic, temperature, or ultrasonic images. For example, an ultrasonic image captured by the transducer can be correlated, fused or otherwise combined with the corresponding positional transducer image, such that the corresponding images represent not only the location of the transducer with respect to the patient, but also the ultrasonic image of the region of interest being scanned. Further, a system is provided wherein the information relating to the transducer position on a single patient may be used to capture similar imaging planes on the same patient, or with subsequent patients. Moreover, the imaging information can be effectively utilized as a training tool for medical practitioners.
