Machining tool, especially a milling tool

A machining tool, especially a milling tool, includes a shaft-like holder defining a longitudinal axis (13). A seat (9) is provided in the front face of the holder for a cutting plate that can be inserted into the holder. The cutting plate has a coupling part for mounting in the seat (9) of the holder. The coupling part has three ribs which project axially from the end surface of the cutting plate that is opposite the holder and which extend radially. The ribs are provided for engagement in complementary grooves (31) configured in the seat (9) of the holder. Their side walls (37 and 35) form driving surfaces and support surfaces, which interact for transmitting a machining torque, or as axial position safety-catch, with corresponding surfaces of the flanks of the ribs of the cutting plate. The driving surfaces and the supporting surfaces are formed by limited partial surfaces (43 and 41) of the side walls (37 and 35) of the grooves (31) whose other surfaces are retracted in relation to the partial surfaces (43 and 41) to form a spacing between the ribs and the walls of the grooves (31).

Photodetector employing slab waveguide modes

A photodetector for detecting infrared radiation (IR) using a slab waveguide is described. The slab waveguide photodetector operates by resonating transverse magnetic or electric modes within the slab from the incident IR. An IR absorbing layer is located within the slab waveguide photodetector where the magnitude of the electric field vector is greatest. This permits the use of a thinner IR absorbing layer without sacrificing photoresponse. Multi-color slab waveguide photodetectors are permitted because multiple transverse magnetic or electric modes resonate within the slab waveguide. A reflective or transmissive grating is used to launch the IR into the IR absorbing layer through a cladding or antireflection layer.

Adapter Hingedly Connecting A Wiper Blade To A Wiper Arm

The invention starts with an adapter (38, 66) for the articulated connection of a wiper blade (24) to a wiper arm (10) using the sidelock system, wherein the adapter (38, 66) has an essentially cylindrical longitudinally slotted bearing element (40, 68), which can be inserted into passages (34) in side walls (30) of a suspension box (28) of the wiper blade (24) and can be fixed on a first end on the edge of a passage (34) by means of locking hooks (50), while its second end is connected with a bearing surface (54, 78), which is adjacent to the outer side of the opposing side wall (30) and is secured against twisting by at least one clip (58, 80). It is proposed that the clip (58, 80) have a locking nose (60), which points in the direction of the bearing element and locks on an edge of the coordinating side wall (30) of the suspension box (28) during assembly.

A Method of Screening Samples

A method of screening a sample for at least one compound of interest is disclosed. The method comprises comparing the ion mobility and at least one further physicochemical property of the ions of a compound of interest to the same properties of candidate ions in the sample. The properties of the compound of interest are matched to those of a candidate ion in the sample then the sample may be determined to comprise the compound of interest.

Fuel injection valve

A fuel injector (1) for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines includes a valve needle (3) and a valve closing body (4), which is operationally linked to it and cooperates with a valve seat face (6) situated in a valve seat body (5) to form a sealing seat. Upstream from the sealing seat there is at least one swirl channel (32), which has a tangential component relative to the longitudinal axis (33) of the fuel injector (1). An axial channel (35), which is formed between the valve closing body (4) and the guide recess (34) of the valve seat body (5), has an axial component relative to the longitudinal axis (33) of the fuel injector (1), the axial channel (35) being formed between the guide recess (34) and at least one flattened area (37) on the valve needle (3).

A method and device for aligning a light spot of light exiting from at least one light guide on an optical converter are provided. The device includes a light guide from which light exits and is incident on an optical converter to at least a substantial fraction, thereby forming a light spot thereon, wherein the exit surface of the fiber has an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the fiber which is different from 0°, and the position of the light spot on the converter is aligned by adjusting the angle. A conversion module as a part of a lighting device is also provided that is operated with excitation light of a light source using a fiber-optical light guide.
